19: They weren't able to do much at the lake because of the ice and snow.....we had about 2 weeks with no progress. The builder said he had a bunch of guys show up on Monday and had to send them all home because it was like an ice skating rink. The rest of the week was nice so they got a lot done. Framing of the outside walls on the Lower Level is almost complete. If the weather stays nice the floor joist will be put in next week and the main level walls will go up. It is very exciting seeing it go up. We wish we could be there to see the construction.....always fun to watch other people work, but with our jobs we can't get down there before dark. - Joan | The Framing February 19

35: They were going to frame some main floor rooms this week and on Saturday they are pouring the garage floor. Next week they will frame out the garage and maybe be ready for roof trusts. - Kent | March 6

36: We're well one our way now, they poured our garage floor last week and will start framing the garage later this week. Then the roof will go on and they will finish framing the basement and main floor. I don't know when they will start on the West Wing and the maids quarters, just kidding. So far everything has gone very well and the lay of the land is not as steep as we thought it was going to be, which gave us a flat driveway and in the back we should have a nice slope to the lake - Kent and Joan - March 12th

40: Top Floor Left is the Master Bedroom There will be a 10x15 deck in front of windows that we can get to from door in bedroom. The next tree windows is the Living Room – Sun Room – Hearth The next bay is the Kitchen/ Dining Area. On the Lower Floor left bay room area four windows is your room but don’t get too excited you’re sharing it from time to time with at least a dozen other people. The next window is another Bedroom. Then a French Door that opens to a patio under the Sun Room area. Then the last bay is a Family Room/Bar/TV Area Hope it all works out furniture wise its tough doing it all on paper but the builder says if we need to move some wall then we'’ll move some walls but we have to get the roof on 1st - Kent

65: We met with builder- Jim – 2 weeks ago and he gave us a new time line. If everything went well we would close the Aug 8-12 week, but the painters took a little longer to finish up. The brick guy was there for 3 days but had to stop because the patio wasn’t poured yet. So the concrete guy couldn’t pour because it was to wet from the rain. The ground would just get dry enough for the bobcat to make it to the back yard and it would pout that night... They finally got the concrete poured last Thursday, I think. So today the brick guys were coming back, two of the brothers were going to start on the deck and Jim and a brother were going to start laying the hard wood floor. In the mean time, Joan and I, let’s face it, I’m really only there to drive her around, are shopping for lights, tile, fans, sinks, towel racks, granite, you name it we’re looking for it. It’s been fun but tiring, if that’s how you spell it. Joan says it would be a lot more fun if we had more money to spend, well duh! Jim is coming to the house tonight to pickup some stuff we bought and go over some other things. – Kent 7/21/2011 | July 15 - July 30

66: The cabinets and vanities are being built by the cabinet guy, we are just about done. Think we have one more sink and a faucet, and the vanities tops, granite tops and carpet for lower level bedrooms, and I think that’s it, but Joan takes care of tracking what we need I just drive -– Kent 8/5/2011 | July 30 | This week we locked in a bank rate for our loan. So we are meeting with Jim Sunday A.M. to talk about finishing up. | This week we locked in a bank rate for our loan. 68: Here's our fireplace on the lower level, by my bar. From beginning to end. Last weekend it was finished. Except for the pot lights that are going to be placed on the lower parts of mantels. You can see some wires hanging down in some of the pics. - Kent 9/8

70: Well here's the story... No, we are not in yet. Still waiting for the cabinet maker to deliver the kitchen and bar base cabinets. He did deliver the bathroom vanities last week..they look great ..exactly what Joan wanted.. So while we wait for the kitchen, the guys put in the retaining wall in the back and side of house, framed up and poured driveway and sidewalk, laying tile, and other things. Got grass this week. As soon as cabinets come we'll order our counter tops and finish up.. These were taken on Wed. this week. I'll try to make a better slide show this weekend ... Till then..... LYM K...Chow 10/19/2011

72: October 19

73: Back patio is b*tch..kitchen not together yet, they will measure for granite Tuesday. Mirrors and Closet shelfs go in on Monday. We are hoping the base bar cabinets are put in place tomorrow....Sat. AM...before we get there, but I would not hold my breath.. Back patio steps ...the top steps are being redone this weekend Jim, the builder says they slant to much. Kitchen as of now...Granite being measured this weekend, then installed 7-10 days, then upper cabinets can be installed ..we're having 1 or 2 towers that sit on counter. I say 1 or 2 because we've changed our minds so many times I can't remember what we decided on. - Kent 11/11/2011 | House update... Suppose to get final inspection later this week or early next week.. Talking to bank tonight about lining up appraisal for loan then builder turns in his ledger sheet to title company. Title company says they need two weeks to check out make sure all bills are paid and title is clean. With clean title, bank will allow us to close. So we still have some hoops to jump thru but it is mostly paper work. As for the house.. we still need to pick out some cabinet door handles for my bar. The handles for the kitchen and laundry room are ordered.. be in Friday, we hope. There is one small piece of trim missing on the deck that needs to be put in place. My bar mirror and TV still need to be put up and they want to put a 3rd coat of stain on our bedroom door, and I think they still need to put a 2nd coat of paint on 3 pieces of window trim. So it's some little Mickey Mouse stuff that I could do if I had to. We do not have a closing date yet because of title Company and bank. I think 3 weeks or so...but we are done...except for the Mickey Mouse crap.. - Kent 1/18/2012

74: The cabinets are still not finished but everything else is pretty much done. Kent may fire the cabinet maker tomorrow and find someone else to finish the kitchen and bar. - Joanie 1/24/2012
