"Time" Time is a priceless resource, Time is completely impartial, showing no favoritism. Time is free, it costs nothing. The value of time can only be measured by how it is spent. If you want to know the value of a year, Ask a sophomore on the last day of the last show, after the last performance of Revels, If you want to know the value of a season, ask the Rangerette who did not pass weigh-ins. If you want to know the value of week, ask a freshman after a semester break. If you want to know the value of an hour, ask Mrs. Wayne after practice of a class. If you want to know the value of a minute, ask a Rangerette who is late. If you want to know the value of a second, ask a hopeful right before....DROPPING THE SIGN!!

Like branches on a tree, our lives may grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one. | Once a hopefull... | Now a Rangerette!!

 Sign Drop

All of your doubts succumb to the excitement running free put a smile on your face and leave it there throughout this next long week of pain for fear of leaving is what it is all about it will not be easy you must give it your all if you ever feel you will not make Rangettes if your mind and body become tired Just remember this style and talent at once you will be inspired when you have done your very best and tryouts come to an end it matters not if you passed the test but that you learned alot and made new friends if your heart is truly dedicated and your mind and body are too in the end you will find you made it a Rangerette through and through

"The Bond of a Sister's Love" | Come with me and we'll go dancing Where truth and beauty know no pain Laughing crying taking chances Dancing through the wind and rain From beginning to the end Between the heartache and the joy Quietly with promises unspoken The bond of a sisters love cannot be broken With this light I will guide you I will show you the path that we have learned Through sweat ad pain you will triumph But remember all your glories must be earned I'll be here if ever you should need me I will always be there by your side To respect and always treat you kindly Calling you my sister gives me pride | You'll succeed to become a stronger person You'll persevere to become the very best Practices are hard performances rewarding You'll know what it takes to be a Rangerette So come with me and we'll go dancing Where truth and beauty know no pain Laughing, crying, taking chances Dancing through the sun and rain From the beginning to the end Between the heartache and the joy Quietly with promises unspoken The bond of a sister's love cannot be broken The bond of a sister's love cannot be broken

"When God Created Sisters" | When God created sisters, He made close friends to share Our secretes hopes and dreams. When God created sisters, He made warm hearts to care with the gentle understanding an insight that is rare. When God created sisters, He answered every prayer that asked for someone special whose love is always there.

Just when I really need you It seems you are always there I find it so encouraging To know you really care. You really are a special friend To love me like you do. I wish that everyone could have a sister just like you! | A Sister Like YOU!!

Don't You Quit When things go wrong as they sometimes will. When the road you're trudging Seems up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, and you want to smile, but you have to sigh. When care is pressing you down a bit, DON'T YOU QUIT! Life is queer with its twists and turns, as every one of us sometimes learns, and many failure turns about when he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up though the pace seems slow- you may succeed with another blow. The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, and you never can tell how close you are it may be near when it seems so far; So stick it to the fight when your hardest hit- is when things seem worst that.. YOU MUST NOT QUIT!!

We're all fighting Ranger's ready to fight for the victory Fighting pals, blocking pals, Passing pals, running pals, In rain or sunshine, Fighting for honor Brave, fair, and true Fighting for the gray and blue fightig for the school Ranger's fight to win (Rack'em Ranger's thank you Sophomore's)

A Sister Is Forever | A sister is forever A bond that diminishes never A friend God chooses for sharing Few ties are as deep and profound And with so much affection abound Though some thoughts are seldom expressed Love endures and survives every test Of th constant that rests in the heart A sister's primary part She'll always be there when you need her You'll listen, value, and hear her As growth and independence you ponder Your feelings will grow deeper and fonder A life tells you one thing is true A sister's a larger part of you

"Freshman Days" Learning isn't easy. Frustration tend to set in quickly You're hurt, you feel defeated, You want to walk away and pretend it doesn't matter But you won't Because you are not a quitter- You're a fighter... We all have to lose sometimes Before we can win. We have to cry sometimes Before we can be strong. But if you keep working and believing, You'll have victory in the end. -Anne Davie

"Christmas Song" | On the twelfth day of practice rettes gave to me memories of a lifetime 10 degrees in Chicago 9 heavy props 8 counts of kick 7 a.m. workouts 6 outstanding managers five perfect officers four space squads three hour practices two great directors and a jump split with a bruised knee

"When I think of Revels" When I remember Revels, I remember: Being with my friends, practicing, trying on costumes, working on scenery (yea fresh), Stress, excitement, sore muscles, bruises, splinters in my feet, and being with my friends. When I remember Revels, I remember: Spending time with my friends, practicing, goofing off backstage, hanging out in the dressing rooms, taking lots of pictures, stretching in the aisles, end-of-practice corrections, behind the curtain back rubes, wanting to take a power nap backstage, anticipation, realizing the end is near, crying, telling stories of our freshman year, and spending time with my friends. When I remember Revels, I remember: Having fun with my friends, fight song on the third floor, listening from the dressing room as the audience filled the auditorium, prayer circle, gifts for Mrs. Blair and Mrs. Wayne waiting backstage wondering if 7:30 will ever come, feeling so nervous I thought I would never make it, hearing the voice begin the show, helping my friends with quick changes the dressing room speakers, still goofing off backstage, repairing any slight costume damages, with safety pins, and having fun with my friends.

When I remember Revels, I remember: Dancing with my friends for the last time, looking into the pit and seeing the nervousness on the faces of our directors, feeling my friends' hands on my shoulders as we kicked, watching my friends from the wings and knowing what they were thinking. Kicking with my friends during sophomore section, remembering the first time I performed with my friends at show-offs. Thanking God for surrounding me with such talented and loving friends, feeling proud of myself and my friends. Making eye contact with a friend as we passed each other on stage. Quietly "yea-ing" a friend as we passed each other on stage. Hugging my friends during times we stood backstage, knowing that I could never again dance on stage with these friends Hearing the audience applaud for us, Looking into the pit and seeing the tears in the eyes of our directors, Loving my friends as we danced for the last time, Smiling with my friends as we danced for the last time, Crying with my friends as we danced for the last time, And Dancing with my friends...for the last time. -Fawn, Huber, '94-96

Rangerette Poem Radio City Music Hall has Rockettes by the score, And Kings of Old Solomon to dance around the floor, Now speaking of precision teams to name the very BEST, Greater team can no man name than the Rangerettes! Every girl's a hand picked gem, most precious and when real life becomes what was a dream for a little girl of four. Each time they march out on the field to do the half-time show, the rehearsing comes alive and the eyes of Texas know, the image born in Gussie's mind made impact around the world each line of red, white, and blue shows the All-American girl!

Lets keep in touch Lets keep in touch throughout the years And let us not forget the happy times That we both shared From the day we met Seasons change, friends move away And life goes on from day to day Flowers fade and streams go dry Yet we can always be assured Because God tells us in his work That unlike changes in the weather A sister's love goes on And lasts forever

Promise yourself...to be strong, So that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health and happiness, And prosperity to every person you meet, To make all your friends feel that there is Something worthwhile in them. To look on the sunny side of everything And make your optimism come true. To think only the best, to work only for the best, Expect only the best, and accept only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of Others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past, and press on The greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times, And give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself That you have no time to criticize others To be to large for worry, too noble for anger, Too strong for fear, And too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

 Revels Song!

Dodson unlocked don't need a key We get in for free We practice past 3 Drink that water cause you're gonna need All your energy To stand all the heat It's time to get our costumes put our makeup on It's time to start the It's time to kill the lights and turn the music loud It's time to start the Shooooooooooowwww 4 We will never say never Block sure seems like forever When you feel like passing out And want to fall on the ground Kick it up kick it up kick it up kick it up up up up Never say never I wish that I could have this moment 4 life 3 Cause during Revels I just feel so alive 3 Pretty pretty pretty please Don't you ever ever ever leave Because we love you perfect sophomores Pretty pretty pretty please Don't you ever ever ever feel That this is over cause it's forever | See you driving round town with your rettes liscence plates and we won't forget you ooooooooo Move your body out on the floor Put your troubles aside and start dancing Anybody can let go Throw away all your problems cause right now it's Revels time You like to dance so do we Get your props and bring em to me Hold your heads up high people everywhere Now everybody pit your hands on the air, say Yeah 3 it's Revels time Yeah 3 we wanna dance tonight Yeah 3 it's Revels time Yeah 3 we wanna dance tonight

Now and forever, you are a part of me and the memory cuts like a knife don't we find the ecstasy, didn't we share the daylight when you waked into my life Now and forever, I'll remember all the promises still unbroken and think about all the words between us that never needed to be spoken We had a moment, just one moment that will last beyond a dream, beyond a lifetime we are the lucky ones some people never get to do all we got to do now and forever, I will always think of you Don't we come together, didn't we live together, didn't we cry together, didn't we play together, didn't we love together and together we lit up the world I miss the tears, I miss the laughter I miss the day we met and all that followed after, sometimes I wish I could always be with you the way we used to do Now and forever, I will always think of you Now and forever, I will always be with you

Always Save A Dream Forget about the times when its been cloudy But don't forget your hours in the sun. Forget about the times you've been defeated, But don't forget the victories you've won. Forget about the mistakes you can't change now, But don't forget the lessons you've learned. Forget about the misfortunes you've encountered, But don't forget the times your luck was turned. Forget about the days when you've been lonely, But don't forget the friendly smiles you've seen. Forget about the plans that didn't Seem to work out right, But don't forget to always have a dream.

Rangerette Creed We're now mighty sophomores, (we wondered if we'd be) Now we'll help the freshman onto victory, Last year in pre-training we stretched and pulled and hurt, Our sophomores told us how, We ranked beneath the dirt. Now we stand in their boots, in red, white, and blue, And dear freshman we intend, to say it all to you! Rettes are famous around the world, We travel far and near, To keep the life that Gussie made, Without another peer. Freshman, practice, kick, And ache and remember oh so well, That though we yell and push and pull, With us you will excel. We want you on the field with us; We want you to be great, Rettes exemplify the best of lives. | No matter how they rate. This line means more to all of us than anything else we name, So little freshmen stretch and work, To achieve this glorious fate. To be a rette is the highest praise, It shows you are the best, no other line can beat us, we stand above the rest. The history of Rangerettes, is held in high esteem, To be a rette is to remember, join and be a team. We perform as one, not as individuals, If you cannot conform, You cannot be counted with the prancers. Two years form bonds, And we find though miles keep us apart, The love we have for sister rettes is strong within our hearts. As you start pre-training, we try to help you all we can, A rette from Kilgore College, and a KC freshman. True, pre-training is not easy, But we did it...SO CAN YOU!!

I'll miss Rangerettes I'll miss the traditional red, white, and blue. The raincoat, little red coat, and travel suit too. I'll miss the long hard practices each day. The sweat and sore muscles that never go away. I'll miss the auditorium, the field and the gym where style and perfection all begin I'll miss Mrs. Blair and Mrs. Wayne for their consistence, determination, and thrill. | I'll miss the crowds, their cheers, and applause, their constant reward for my daily cause. I'll miss my friends, so close to my heart, we've been through everything and soon we will part. I'll miss the spirit and soul, the strength within the feelings "you survived" again and again, This strength will help to keep us alive, We're Rengerettes forever... We were bound to survive.

There once was a lady named Gussie Nell Davis When it came to makin' history she was the bravest She asked to come to Kilgore to create something great With an idea in her head she began to contemplate She got a group of girls and she put them in a line Said "Lift your head and hold it high!" and pointed to a smile sign Made a routine with high kicks and jump splits too And put them in a uniform of red, white, and blue The whole town was amazed, they'd never seen this before And by the end of the dance they were cheering for more That was the first performance, but it sure wasn't the last They've been to NY, Singapore, and in Hong Kong they had a blast Basketball games, football games, parades, they did it all | They performed for audiences big, they performed for audiences small No other cities had a group like this, it was the first in the whole wide world Red shirts, blue skirts, white belts with boots and hair that is beautifully curled Other teams began to form, but the "rettes" remained the best Often copied but never equaled, hey were better than all the rest Without Ms. Davis, no Majorettes, not one Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader If Gussie Nell Davis was alive today I sure would want to meet her. With American pride and Texas spirit the Rangerettes danced with flare Watching the dance to me is an honor, A performance like theirs is rare Gussie Nell's motto was "Beauty knows no pain." The Rangerettes looked gorgeous in heat, sleet, snow, or rain The organization is famous now, its been 71 years But it would be impossible without our legacy's passion, sweat, and tears.

As your sophomore there is only one more thing that I can take away from you... | your first name.

Goodbye Erica... | Hello Miss Trull!!

Romans 15:5-6 "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
