Days in Destin by Kabir Blake Gupta
Day 1 First we got up in our house. Then we drove to Florida and in Florida we had planned to go to the Destin beach. On the way, it was lunch time. At lunch time, we stopped at the restaurant Arby’s. On the way to the beach, we saw some cows and calves. Then we finally came to the beach. At the beach, first we went in the building. Then we went into an elevator. In the elevator, I pressed the button number seven. From the elevator we went to the corridor, then to the apartment. In the apartment, there was a balcony. We went in the balcony. There was a pool outside. We looked at the ocean and at the pool.
Then we unpacked our stuff, even the two cd’s of Hanuman. Then we went for shopping for the grocery. Then we came back into our apartment. Then we changed into our swimming trunks and I put on my goggles. We also put on our beach shoes. Then we went to the beach.
In the beach, I played in the water. Before that I put on my goggles. When I was playing in the water with my dad, the waves leapt on the seashore and when the waves leapt on the seashore, I almost fell on the sea floor. It happened many times. We stayed in the water until I and my brother, Arjun got tired of playing in the beach. Then we went into our apartment. I and Arjun were so dirty. Then we took a bath. The water was hot and the water of the beach was ice cold. Then we put on our night suits.
Then my mom and dad did meditation in the balcony. While they were meditating, I watched Christmas Puja. The year of the Christmas puja was 1981. Then I took out the cd of Christmas Puja and put on the cd of Hanuman. It was disc two. When the Hanuman was finished, I took out the Hanuman cd and put it back in its place. Then I ate my jumbo fresh shrimps with the cocktail sauce and I also ate bread and butter.
After my mom and dad’s meditation was finished, I ate some Tiramisu ice cream.
Day 2 First we got up, we ate our breakfast in the apartment. Then we went into the same elevator that we went in yesterday. I pressed the alphabet G. From the elevator we came to the place we’d supposed to have breakfast. There was a door. We went out the door. The pool was outside. There was a short bridge. You can only walk on the bridge. We went on the bridge. The bridge was leading us to the seashore. We went on the seashore.
While my mom, Shruti was playing with Arjun on the sand, I and my dad, Amit were playing in the water. We played a game. “Coming, coming, coming, coming, coming!” The last coming was that the waves splish-splashed us on our backs because we were looking what were Shruti and Arjun doing. For hours we played and then I was sleepy. I was shivering. We took a shower. On the way to the shower and on the way to the apartment, I kept whispering, “Teeth chattering, teeth chattering, teeth chattering, teeth chattering.”
Then I saw the pool. “I ... I want to go to the the pool,” I said. “The pool is very cold right now,” said Amit. I quickly ran to the door of the building and opened it quickly so that I could get warm. I quickly ran to the elevator with my mom and dad after they came in. I quickly pressed the button of the elevator and the elevator opened. I quickly went into the elevator and pressed the button number seven. The elevator took us to the seventh floor. Then I quickly went into the bathroom and I took a quick rinse. I quickly put on my other clothes and we went to a place. It was a seafood restaurant. I and Amit ate oysters. The shells of the oysters were rough and gray as a rock and plain as plain can be. My dad said that when the fishermen got the oysters they saw that there were a lot of great pearls inside the oysters. Then we went to an ice cream shop and ate strawberry shortcake ice cream over there. Then we went back to our apartment and I napped.
Day 3 First we get up. Then we put on our swimming trunks and our swimming t-shirts. Then we went to the beach. I played in the water. Then we put on our swimming trunks and swimming t-shirts. Then we went to the beach. We ran a lot except Amit and Arjun.
Always have a blast at the beach! | On the way, we found some shells. We collected them and took them to our apartment. Then we went to a Mexican restaurant. Then we went for a train ride. I pretended the shops were countries or states or cities. I also pretended that I knew what were the things in the train. For example, I pretended there was a money bin.
Then we went to a playground. Near the playground there was a water park also.
When Arjun looked at the water park he thought that he would never leave this place. Arjun was walking through the water. I wanted to go to the playground with Arjun but he didn’t go because he was so excited to go and play in the water park. Finally, Arjun played in the playground with me. Then we ate pizza and gelato. Then we went to our apartment. Then I slept.
Day 5 First we got up. Then we ate banana bread. Then Arjun took a long nap. While he was napping, my parents did a long meditation but I was coloring a vase. Finally, I joined meditation. Every year Johnsons visit Seaside. So, we visited Seaside. There we ate grilled | cheese and gelato again.

I thought if my dad was a fisherman and got a lobster, the lobster will really bite him. The lobster was really good and I and my dad ate some shrimps too. Then we went to our balcony and we looked outside. We saw some dolphins and ships. At the same time we were eating fruits too. There were some watermelons. I loved the watermelons.
When I ate the last piece of watermelon, I and my mom and dad didn’t see that Arjun had a pencil and he threw it onto the side of the pool. I was saying, “Will you bring the pencil back?” I kept asking my mom. Then we went in. Then I slept.
Day 6 First we get up. Then we had breakfast. While Arjun napped, we did Sahasrara puja. The time when I was tired in the puja was when the Sahaja Yogis in the puja were saying the one hundred and eight names of Shri Mataji. I was so amazed to see that the puja had one hundred and eight names of Shri Mataji. Then I did coloring. Then we went to a place called Tracks. I did the merry-go-round and I wanted to do the caged Ferris wheel but my mom and dad said that the caged Ferris wheel was closed. I did an airplane ride, carousel, spinning boat, bumper boat, train and go-kart. Go-kart, bumper boat and carousel – I did with my dad. Carousel and train – I did with Arjun too.
But I did train ride with my mom.

In the beach, my dad and Arjun were walking to one side and my mom and I were walking to the other side. We didn’t realize that my dad and Arjun were not there. . Suddenly, I and mama realized and I said that the name of papa and Arjun will be Henry and Benny just like the Boxcar Children. Our names are going to be Violet and Jessie just like Boxcar Children. I pretended that I had a book and the book could only work when it’s our darkest hour just like Jack and Annie.
I pretended I had the wand of Dianthus and the magic flute. Jessie blew on the mouthpiece and I made up a song. The song was: Henry, Benny come back to our town The waves won’t hit you And, the sharks won’t bite you, The pirates and the Vikings won’t get you. Henry and Benny come back to our town, Follow me, follow me! Finally, we found each other. I found Arjun and papa found mama. | Then we came back to our apartment and ate dinner. Woof!” Came a sound. Then I pressed the cat button. “Meow! Meow!” Came a sound. Then we went to a Mexican restaurant but it was closed. So we went to a Greek restaurant. I ate a Gyro, pita bread with Tzatziki, grape leaves, and baklava. Then we went to Fresh Market to get Prasad for the puja and Napoleon and Petit Fours.
Then we put on our swimming trunks and swimming t-shirts and swimming diaper for Arjun. Then we went to the beach. There were two human barracudas, worst than the real barracuda. I and papa ran away from the human sharks. Then we saw a man on a surf board. I pretended that the man on the surf board was a shark. We ran away from the human shark which was one of the worst sharks ever. Then I, Arjun and papa made a line called the “Arjun Line.”
While we made the “Arjun Line,” mama collected conical shells from the ocean. Then mama came to play with Arjun and me and papa collected conical shells. My dad found a conical shell and inside the conical shell there was a shell. Then we went back to our apartment. Then I took a long shower. Then I put on my night suit and ate dinner. Then I ate a oval crab shaped chocolate. Then I read the book of Magic Tree House book 14, chapter one. Then my mom read the book of the Boxcar Children to me.
