Your consistent desire to do your best work, think critically and pursue independent thought and ideas will ensure your future success! You are to be commended, too, on loving to read! As Charles W. Eliot said, “Books are the quietest and most constant of friends: They are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers.” So keep on reading!! Congratulations, graduates of 2011, on your exemplary efforts in both class and extracurricular activities. Be sure to continue to participate next year in high school. 15: At Buttonville we continue to endeavour to provide exemplary educational and extra curricular programs for children in a welcoming, caring and supportive environment. We have been busy creating a community that is reflective of the York Region District School Board’s Character Matters and that gives our students equal opportunities of even larger schools in our local community. We feel very honoured to be able to work with the teachers, parents, students and community of Buttonville that we respect and admire each and every day. A significant partner in the success of reaching our goals is the support we receive from our School Council. Under the leadership of Kim Sutherland and Peri Sygounas of our School Chair we have held several fundraising campaigns in which the profits have gone to supporting the different student programs here at Buttonville. The huge addition of Technology this year is directly related to the continued support of our parents. Everyday we look forward to coming to school and working with our children and our incredible staff. Our children are well behaved and respectful. Our entire school staff feel very fortunate to be here at Buttonville. We hope you enjoy this yearbook which is a reflection the past wonderful school year of 2010-2011. -Mr. Sandiford | Dear Graduates, I have had the privilege of working with most of you for the past two years. It is obvious that you enjoy learning and you work hard. Now you’ve made it to this very important milestone in your lives. Your next step will be the challenge of high school. I trust that each and every one of you will be successful in whatever path you choose to follow. Good luck, grade eights. And don’t forget to come and visit us! -Mr. Emm | To the graduates of Buttonville Public School, I wish you tremendous success as you begin a new journey in your educational career.
