S: Grandmas at Play Memorial Day Weekend 2008
FC: Grandmas at Play Memorial Day Weekend 2008
Helen had come over to look for a dress to wear to Lori's wedding. She also wanted to work with me on the bulletin to be handed out at the wedding. Melvene and her came over for supper on Friday. I used the gold flatware from Mother, the gold leaf glasses from my high school graduation gifts, and the new table Elizabeth had helped me purchase. The other table was full of papers for bulletin possibilities.
Helen does lot of sewing, so I got my boxes of material out for her to go through. Just maybe there would be something she could use, either in the wedding, or later for her family.
When the first picture was taken, all we could see was their backs. They turned around and said, " See Grace, now you are in the picture too."
We worked on a puzzle until time for breakfast. | Memorial Day | We had a big day planned, Melvene made us pancakes, hoping to have it stick to our ribs!
Then it was time to hit the stores, for we were on a mission and a wild time
We became cyber shoppers when we went into Hancock Fabrics. Gail need a piece of blue for the wedding, so Melvene took a few pictures and sent them to her on the phone. There were only a few odds and ends purchased there. Then we got serious about checking out the dresses ready to wear.!
These two know how to shop - I just watched and took pictures.
 Some we just said NO
Others had some possibilities | Just the wrong color
We got to the right color, then found just the right one. She would make a few alterations, and wear it for the wedding.
Our breakfast had long left us, and we had worked up another appetite. | The Panara Bread Company | This was my first visit to this store, and has become one of my favorite places.
Then I made a mistake-- We went past the David Bridal Shoppe, and I mentioned that if there was any dress I would like to try on, it would be a wedding dress. That was all it took for those two. No words are needed for the next pages, there was more fun and laughter than they could hold - just look in the mirrors for them.
"Which one do you want, my dear?" I had offered to wait in the car until they came back, but NOOOOO. They had the money to shove me around. "See, Grace, this one sits just right, Come on and try it." I knew that it would be impossible for me to move more than super slow. My hips would catch, and I would have to rest often. We were off to see everything. | Freedom Weekend Aloft Simpsonville, South Carolina
 There were many different vendors
There's a whole lot of party going on
 Stars 'n' Stripes Forever
Family, Fun, Food and Fireworks | Melvene ran across a few friends. The couple had just recently married.
Time for the traditional picture taking time - guess we just had to show we were actually there.
We had to wait for the fireworks, and cotton candy was just the right thing to fill the time
 The End
