FC: The Great Depression
The Great Depression was caused by bank failures. They failed because of three major reasons. The McFadden Act of 1927, people not being able to pay off their loans, and panic, when people heard about the crash they took all the money they had in banks, out.
Life was insanely difficult for family's that went through it. Children starting at age 10 would drop out of school to work in factories to help support their family. A lot of people had to live in shacks, instead of houses because they couldn't afford to keep their house. Families that were able to keep their house gave up a lot to keep it.
The Great Depression lasted for nine years. It was from 1930-1939.
The Great Depression really only affected the middle and lower class inhibitors of the United States. The upper class was really not affected at all, sometimes nor did they realize that the classes under them were suffering.
The New Deal, was what brought many people out of danger during the depression. It did not completely fix the depression. But it helped people get out to get jobs, and also create laws preventing another depression in the future.
