FC: A Cautionary Tale of The Road to Wisdom | by Kyle Davis
A Cautionary Tale on The Road to Wisdom a modern Fable
There was a lazy mouse who did not like school. He spent most of his time snacking on seeds and sleeping while the teacher talked and never did any homework. Then, one day he realized he would fail his tests and would be stuck in school for another year.
Mouse went and saw his friend Turtle with his problem. Turtle was surprised because he had spent the entire year sleeping in his shell and did not know his schoolwork either "Mouse, we must find someone to give us all the answers. We need the baddest dude of all. Someone sneaky and sly. But who?" They both thought very hard for a few moments. Suddenly, Mouse yelled, "I know! It has to be Fox! He never ever studies and always has good grades. I bet he cheats all the time! " Turtle agreed, and they went off to find Fox.
Fox smiled slowly at them when they told him their problem. "Let me be sure I understand you," he said with a toothy grin. "You want me to get you all the answers. This is going to cost you big time!" "I know," said Mouse, "But I know you will get us the answers we need, because you are so bad and everyone is scared of you. Here is all my birthday and holidays money. It is quite a lot." "And mine, too", said Turtle. Fox took the money and told them to return the next day.
Fox thought hard about what had just happened. "So, they think I am so bad! And they pay me to steal and cheat for them? We'll see! I'll give them all the knowledge they could ever need!" He snickered and plotted his next move.
The next day, Fox met Turtle and Mouse. "Do you have it?" Mouse cried. "Do you have all the answers for us?" "I do, indeed." Fox grinned, "I have all the knowledge you seek." "Give it to us!" Turtle and Mouse demanded. Fox deeply bowed and handed each a library card. "But! But!" they cried. "This is the key to all the knowledge you could ever seek," said Fox and he trotted away.
