How We Met | After the rehearsal dinner | On our honeymoon in Aruba | Thad graduated from college in 1999, and Heather in 2000 | Newly engaged!
We met at our alma mater (a small Christian college) where Thad got a degree in youth ministry, and Heather got degrees in violin performance and math. A couple of friends introduced us and became our double-date buddies. We dated for three-and-a-half years, got engaged at Heather's senior violin recital, and were married a year later in 2000.

Thad here! I imagine you would like to learn more about me. Here goes: I was born in 1977, and raised in Kansas. I'm six feet tall, have brown hair and blue eyes. I have one older brother, and people often mistake us for each other. I currently work as the production supervisor for a small, Christian publishing company. At home, I enjoy firing up the grill, exercising and playing with my electronic gadgets. I also enjoy working on my family tree. Most of my ancestors are from Germany and Ireland. | Heather's Thoughts About Thad | Thad is going to be an absolutely wonderful daddy. He's patient, kind, empathetic and a total goofball. He makes everything fun, and lights up a room with his smile. I can't wait to see him excel in this role! The only thing missing is a baby for him to dote on!
A Little Bit About Heather | Hi there! I'm Heather. I was born in 1977 and raised in Kansas. I'm 5'3" and have brown hair and gray eyes. I have two brothers, one older and one younger, that I'm very close to. I also have quite a bit of extended family that lives nearby. I work as a computer programmer at a small, Christian publishing company. When I'm not working, I enjoy playing violin, sewing and crafting, reading, and hanging out with friends and family. | Right before a violin performance
I wanted to give you some of my background, so that you'd understand part of why we are so eager to adopt. While I am unable to conceive, I have always known that adoption is right for me. My parents believed they were unable to have children, so they adopted my older brother and me. They were shocked when they actually conceived my younger brother! Being adopted myself, I am very equipped to put myself in my child's shoes, and really empathize with them. My father passed away several years ago, but my mother lives nearby. As an adoptive mother and retired teacher, she will be a wonderful source of wisdom for us. She's so excited for us to start our adoption story, and continue hers. Thanks for reading! Heather | Thad's Thoughts About Heather | Heather will make an awesome mama. I can't wait for the day she can use her creativity to plan birthday and holiday parties. Heather has so much love to give, and I'm extremely excited for her to share that love with our child. | Tickling session with our nephew
