 1. Krispy Kreme 2. Cornhole 3. Brickhouse 4. Unv. Directories 5. 6. | Fundrai$ing | This year our chapter more than exceeded our ACR fundraising goals. The brothers and their friends had fun at Brickhouse Tavern again and again for $2.00 deal nights, where for a $2.00 cover to AKPsi, people could get great deals on food and drinks. The early birds of the group got up at 4:00 am to go the Newport News Shipyard to sell Krispy Kreme Donuts to Northrop Grumman employees and Sailors before their long days at work. At the shipyard, Brothers met a lot of characters, like man selling crabcakes and porkchops out of a cooler. This year we started up the Alpha Kappa Psi Cornhole Classic, which was held in the fall and spring. Members of many organizations competed and had a ton of fun. The first semester we held the event, we were sponsored by Knockaround Sunglasses. In the Spring, we had many sponsors including Knockaround, who gave us over one hundred pairs of Knockaround Premiums, Brickhouse Tavern, Moes Southwest Grill, TGI Fridays, and Arcadia Evolutions. This event helped AKPsi gain recognition on campus

As the semester started and practically a whole new committee formed, other brothers had helped to plan events. The previous committee from last semester and SAAB cosponsored our first professional event of the semester. Dress for Success and 30 second sound byte. Alumni and Business owners came and would practice introductory speeches with students. Some brothers were models for the Dress for Success, modeling good and bad business attire. Our Vice President of Finance Jessica Robinson, brought in Bobby Weeks, whom spoke to the chapter about owning his own Paintball business. He talked about the timeline of how he just started out until he begin to really succeed in the industry. The Vice President of Alumni, Fiona Weber, had spoke with Jodi South, an Old Dominion University AKPsi alumni about speaking to the chapter. He discussed how Alpha Kappa Psi has helped him in the working world and how he uses it as an employment base. Rick Boyer was our final professional event of the semester. He came to the fraternity and presented the Do’s and Don’ts of Public Speaking. The chapter seemed very responsive to it as Mr. Boyer had done an excellent job. We appreciated all of our speakers coming to talk to us, their time and advice. | Professional Events

This year, the Philanthropy Committee participated in Relay for Life. We held a fundraiser at Brickhouse to raise money for our team, and we also sold bracelets to raise money for cancer awareness for the American Cancer Society. Those who participated did a great job making money and collecting donations. It’s a great event, as most campus groups, including other Greek life, join in on the big event.

 P.B.L.I | Atlanta 2011

This year PBLI was held in Atlanta. We had almost 20 brothers in attendance for the weekend. Between the car ride down and hanging out in the hotel it was a memorable weekend full of good times!
