BC: Ace Daddy Production | LEGGO!
FC: Supercilious | Arrogance Made Me The Avery I Am Today
"Avery, You Have enough picture to start your own Museum" -Larry Brooks III | This saying, from my older brother, actually inspired me to use Supercilious or arrogant pride as my topic for this project. For a long time, this attitude that people never really saw me show, has been hidden deep inside me, but has been slowly slipping from my idea of hiding it from the public eye. Larry has claim that Ace Daddy ( A nickname that I created and refer to myself as) was the side of me that showed my cockiness as if it was a alter-ego. I laughed about it when I was exposed to the idea but now i began to think.....
Free Verse | Free Verse - A poem that does not follow rules, Unlike other Poems, hence the word "Free". It doesn't have no particular meter pattern nor Rhyme pattern | Why should my poems be confined, when my thoughts aren't. -Avery Hunter-Brooks
Have you not see my awesomeness? The way i walk , The way i talk, My appeal to people. Aren't you blinded by my awesomeness? The way i think, Which makes u sink, Jealous of all my moves. Don't you wanna have my awesomeness? To be like me To have my diversity, To be intellectual like Ace. Well you can't and you never will | My Awesomeness
Im Just Better I"m just better than you, Did you not know that? I fly higher than you, Didn"t I show that? You say that nobody is perfect, Then I guess I'm a nobody. The name is Avery Brooks, A.k.a Ace Daddy, Anyone gotta problem, They can holla at me. I am the weapon of mass distraction, while you're just the pet. No you can't have me, 'cuz its not your turn yet. I dont worry bout others, I just leave them to their otherness, Bout to get Ace Daddy tatted on the right arm with the shiny black watch on the other wrist. Your cocky is my confidents, you don't have to understand it, but since I'm that important, I will leave you with my Pamphlet, Please understand that you dont have to like me, Join the crowd and do what you gotta do, just no that i will always, always, be better than you.
Lyric Poems- Express emotion and thoughts of the writer. Lyric Poems do not necessarily tell a story filled with characters and their actions, does not have a rhyme pattern and MOST lyric poems are short. | Lyric Poem | "I heard a fly buzz when i died; The stillness around my form Was like stillness in the air between the heaves of storm. -Emily Dickenson
Prose Poem | Prose poems- Are poems that is written in the form of a ordinary passage but uses the same element that poems consist of such as imagery and figurative language. | Poetry doesn't have to be on a specific side no more, write it like a letter. -Avery Hunter-Brooks
My Customize Rag There is no other human like me out there. The 3 different tones of caramel best describes my rag color. What appear first to a lot of people is the huge trademark of the males, that sit in the middle of my face. The one way direction of my eyebrow and its natural glossed look are apart of my facial features that no artist can portray. To have the blood of a Black, Dominican and Trinidadian all in one creates rag that is different from others. This is my rag.
Niyi Osundare,, an English professor University, was born in Ikere-Ekiti, Ondo of Nigeria on March 12 1947. Osundare had accumulated his bachelors of Arts Degree (BA) at University of Ibandan, Master of Arts Degree (MA) in University of Leeds and his Doctor of Philosophy as in doctor of the Philosophy of Arts Degree (Ph.D) in York University. Osundare has wrote many poems such as "Not My Business," "Song of the Market," "Village Voices," A Nib on the Pond and many more.. Osundare had begun to write poems for the National Newspaper and to expose others to the dictatorship that General Sani Abacha had place over Nigeria. One reason why his poems are so unique is because they consist of a wide range of vernacular and literary idioms to frame its lyrical and satirical concerns with social justice. What was your purpose for writing? he said, "I believe art has a purpose. I believe in the social status of art. Art must talk to us. It must be used to advance the cause of humanity. It is human to create. I believe that if art has any sake at all, it is human. i am a humanist. The content is as important as the work. A work of art is not a technical jargon. The basis of all art is justice" (Osundare) Sources: Shrophire, Barddoniaeth W., Oswestry Shrophire, "Niyi Osundare", Copyright 2011, Net Industries and Licensors. www.jrank.org/litature/page/5322/niyi-osundare.html Eckard, Evan, Writestuff, "Niyi Osundare" Powered by blogger Templates, created by Deluxe templates, 2010 WriteStuff. http://oniammemory.blogspot.com.com/2010/07/six-poems-from-niyiosundare-on-african.html
