2: Ingredients: 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 2 cups sifted flour 1 tsp. baking soda 4 ripe bananas (mashed) 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup sour milk* 1 cup finely chopped walnuts, if desired *to make sour milk, add a tsp. of white vinegar to the milk; it will sour by the time you you need to add to the mixture. | Banana Bread | Directions: Preheat oven to 350 Grease well 2 loaf pans Cream shortening, salt and sugar. Add eggs, flour, baking soda, sour milk, vanilla, bananas and nuts. Mix well. Divide mixture between 2 pans. Before putting in the oven, sprinkle tops with sugar and cinnamon. Bake for 40 minutes. 4: Ginger Cookies Ingredients: 3/4 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. molasses 1 egg 2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. EACH cloves, cinnamon and ginger 1/2 tsp. salt Directions: Cream butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in molasses and egg. Sift together flour, soda, cloves, cinnamon , ginger and salt. Stir into creamed mixture. Chill until firm enough to shape into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar and place about 2 inches apart, on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees 10 to 15 mins. Makes about 5 dozen.

7: 1. Butter the pan 2. Combine honey and peanut butter in saucepan 3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth and comes to a boil 4. Remove from heat | 5. Stir in vanilla 6. Add in cereal, chocolate chips and nuts 7. Stir until well combined. 8. Press into buttered pan 9. Chill one hour
8: haystacks | haystacks | Ingredients: 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened 2 tablespoons milk 2 c. sifted powdered sugar 1/4 tsp vanilla 3 cups miniature marshmallows dash salt 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted flake coconut | Directions: Combine softened cream cheese and milk. Mix until well blended. Gradually add sugar. Stir in melted chocolate, vanilla and salt. Fold in marshmallows. Drop rounded teaspoons of mixture in coconut. Toss until well covered. Place on tray and chill until firm. Makes 3 to 4 dozen
9: apple | Mix 1 1/2 c. flour, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1 tsp. salt. Break 2 small eggs into the above mixture. Stir 'til crumbs are the size of peas. Line buttered baking dish with sliced/peeled apples (1 bag of Granny Smith apples). Sprinkle apples with 1/4c. sugar and sprinkle with 1 tbs. cinnamon. Spread crumbs over apples and 3tbs melted butter over crumbs. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 400 degrees, about 40 mins or top is brown | crisp | Carla gave this one to mom
13: Makes 24 pre-heat 375 degrees | cherry cream | cheese tarts | Grandma's Recipe | Ingredients: 24 foil cup cake liners 1 cup sugar 1 box vanilla wafers 1 can cherry pie filling 1 1sp vanilla 2 eggs 3 8oz cream cheese packages | Directions: 1. With electric mixer, mix: cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, eggs 2. Place 1 wafer in foil liners 3. Fill each liner 3/4 full with mixed batter 4. Bake @375 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until light brown 5. Cool and put 3 cherries on each tart
14: Pumpkin Bread (Chocolate Chip) 1/2 c. soft butter 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 3/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp ginger 3/4 c. pumpkin 1/4 tsp ground cloves 3/4 c. choc. chips Blend butter, sugar and eggs. Mix together dry ingredients. Alternate in adding a little of the dry mixture and a little of the pumpkin to the butter mixture. Add the chocolate chips last. Bake 1 hour @ 350 degrees Let sit in pan for 1 hour after baking.
15: Chocolate Chip Cookies (Oven 375 degrees) Combine in a small bowl: 2 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp salt Combine in a separate bowl: 1 c. soft butter 3/4 c. sugar 3/4 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Beat until creamy. Beat in 2 eggs Add flour mixture - mix well Stir in 12 oz pkg. of semi-sweet chocolate chips Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes
16: Monkey Bread | Ingredients: 1 1/2 cans refrigerated biscuits 1/3 c. chopped walnuts 1/4 c. sugar 1/4 c. margarine 1/4 c. brown sugar
17: Directions: 1 preheat oven to 375 2. place walnuts in bottom of pie pan 3. cut each biscuit into 1/4ths 4. mix cinnamon and sugar together 5. roll each biscuit piece in cinnamon and sugar mixture to coat 6. arrange coated biscuit pieces into the pan 7. melt margarine and add brown sugar. 8 pour margarine mixture over biscuits evenly 9. bake at 375 for at least 15 minutes (check to see if middle pieces are cooked. bake until cooked in the middle) 10. place serving platter over pan and invert immediately (flip over) | From home-ec at Grace Yokely
18: BEER BREAD | 1 12 oz of beer (room temp.) 3 cups self-rising flour 3 tbl sp. sugar | Beat ingredients with a spoon. Put dough in a buttered loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 mins. Butter the top and bake for 15 minutes more
