4: A | Atascosa River Water | The Atascosa River known as the River of the Alligators water sources to many towns in South Texas. it was formed by the Bexar District. The Atascosa is one out of the three which give water to the town called the Three Rivers. The Atascosa River is located Southwestern of Bexar County. The Atascosa River is important because it helps farming and ranching down in South Texas.
5: B | Mount Bonnell Landform | Mount Bonnel is located in Austin, Texas. Mount Bonnel was named after George Bonnel who helped Indian affairs and moved here to Austin in 1839. When you look down Mount Bonnell you can see Lake Austin. The highest peak of Mount Bonnell is about 775ft or more. This place is known for tourism in Austin and is an amazing sight seeing journey.
6: C | Corpus Christi City | Corpus Christi known in Latin by "Body of Christ" is located in Southern Texas. Corpus Christi is the 8th largest city in Texas. Corpus Christi is attracted by tourist, fishing,and seafood. Corpus Christi is also known for their wonderful beaches and beautiful weather. There nickname by tourist is called " Sparkling City by the sea".
7: D | Dallas City | Dallas is one of the biggest cities in Texas and in the Nation with 3.5 Million people. It is located in the East of Texas. Dallas is known for 3 industries; fashion, finance, and transportation. Dallas' water comes mostly from the Trinity River. Dallas is mostly known for by their huge international airport which is one of the largest in the nation.
8: E | Enchanted Rock Landform | The Enchanted Rock is located about 15 miles north of Fredricksberg. The Enchanted Rock is made out of granite. This is best for tourism and hiking. The Elevation is about 1,825 ft. There are many legends and myths on what actions took place on the rock like sacrificed kidnapping by the Native Americans.
9: F | Fort Worth City | Fort Worth, located southern of the Texas Panhandle. Fort Worth is the fifth largest in the state Texas. Fort Worth was originated as a base for the army in the late 1800's. Now its based on mostly architecture and western heritage. Also known as Dallas/Fort Worth is now known as a big metropolitan area.
10: G | Galveston City | Galveston is a coastal city in southern Texas in the coastal plains regions of Texas. Controlled by Spaniards in the early 1800's, they made a port. Today it is now known for tourism, health care, and shipping and finacial industries. It is also known for the serious earthquake that killed many men, women, and children in 1900. It has healed those painful wounds by being one of the best vacationing area and a great place for fishing in Texas.
11: H | Houston Comunity Colledge University | Located in the city of Houston, Houston Community College operates community colleges in Houston, Missouri City, and Stafford Texas. It was built in 1971 and is the second community college in the city of Houston. HCC has Several sports like Soccer, Flag Football, Tennis, and many more. HCC has a television channel Called HCCTV on comcast channel 19. HCCTV was started in 1994.
12: Inner Space Cavern Landform | I | Inner Space Cavern is a Karst Cave located in Georgetown,Texas. It was founded when the were making a highway in 1963. It is millions of years old. Despite the fact it is mostly for recreation, it is a landform. The cave was made when water was carved through Edward's limestone. You go into the cable car and you explore the cave. Inner Space Cavern is one place in Texas, you have to see because the Granite goes back in time of our ancestors.
13: J | San Jacinto Battleground Historical Importance | The San Jacinto Battleground is located is southeastern of San Antonio, and is Texas most proud battle. It gained Texas their independence from Mexico. The battle was a sneak attack when the Mexicans were sleeping. Then they attacked them, killed many but showed mercy and showed the leader Santa Anna mercy. Santa Anna granted Texas' freedom and left Texas forever. San JAcinto is a historical landmark where the fathers of Texas fight for there independence from Mexico.
14: K | Kuhlmam-King Historical House Historical Importance | Khulmam-King Historical House is located in Bourne, Texas. William Khumam bought this house from a lovely couple in 1883. He is known for having the first telephone and buggy in Bourne, Texas. It is a tourism sight in Bourne, Texas and is a breathtaking area. William Khumam though, was not a king, because he bought the house from a lovely couple William and Helene Werner, It is called Khumam-King Historical House because William loaned the house to Selina Long King, therefrore giving it the title, Khumam-King Historical House.
15: Lake Austin, also known as Lady Bird Lake, it is a dammed up portion of the Colorado River in Austin, Texas. There many swell places to eat along the lake like Ski Shores, and Hula Hut, Ables on the Lake, and Mozart's. Lake Austin has some of the best fishing in Texas with Large-Mouth bass and several others. Lake Austin is also known for it's wake-surfing which is using the wake behind the boat to surf.If you ever have the chance, come to Lake Austin! | Lake Austin Water | L
16: Mitre Peak Summit Landform | The Mitre Peak Summit in Texas is located in Jeff Davis County approximately southeast of Fort Davis in Texas. It is 6,073 ft above sea level. It is covered with barbwire because it is not a public tourism area. It is owned by farmers and rancher. The mountain is made by erosion. It approximately takes 10-12 hours to climb to the top. It is named after the bishops tall hat. | M | M
17: N | Nueces River Water | The Nueces River is located northwest of San Antonio. It was first settled by Cpt. Blas MarÃa de la Garza FalcÃ³n in 1766. Before the Revolution. THe Nueces River is the border between Texas and USA. The Nueces water is a great water source for towns.
18: O | Odessa College University | Odessa College is a two-year junior college located in Odessa, Texas. It was first opened door in 1999. In Odessa College. It is known for it's high technical training. Odessa College participate in the WJCAC conference of the NJCAA. They have won many titles. A Odessa doctor and his wife donated 27,000 square foot building in Pecos for the Technical Training of Odessa. This college is not a big university like U.T or A&M, but it is a great learning center for education.
19: P | Pecos River Water | The Pecos River is located east of El Paso. It is a great water source for the dry, and hot towns of East Texas like El Paso. It is a great place for canoing,kayaking, and swimming only for experts though, because the current is big! It is more than 50 miles long. It empties into the Rio Grande. The Pecos River has many caves and canyons like the Lewis Canyon along it. The Pecos River is one of the most important rivers in Texas because it provides a water source for the small towns and communities in East Texas, the driest place in Texas.
20: Q | Quintana Beach County Park Recreation | Quintana Beach County Park is a 51 acre beach front park located in Upper Texas. It is a fun recreation center where families gather around to have fun. It is also historical because Fort Bates from 1862 is partially there. The remains of the Freeport Harbor Defense from 1942 is still there too. Quintana Beach County Park is a family recreation center,also has historical items and houses and has a beach, and where families gather around to bird watch, camp, swim, surf, and all sorts of fun things.
21: R | Red River Water | Red River is located in northeastern Texas. It borders Oklahoma and Texas near the panhandle of Texas. It is a main tributary to the Mississippi River. It is also known for the Longhorns and Sooners: Red River Showdown, a major rivalry. The Red River provides water to northern Texas towns and southern Oklahoma cities. The Red River is a famous river in Texas not just for the football game but is also a border river. It is about 1,360 miles long and is the second largest river in the Great Plains Regions in Texas.
22: S | Six Flags Recreation | Six Flags is a 200 acre park full of roller coasters and great shows. Six Flags is located in northwest San Antonio. Opened in 1992, also known as Fiesta Texas, Six Flags is one of the most famous recreational centers in the nation. There are about 50 rides, roller coasters and water slides. Six Flags is opened from march to January. It is not opened in February. Six Flags is an exciting place for fun and for an adventure.
23: T | Texas A&M University | Texas A&M, located in Fredricksburg. It is the sixth largest in the nation and a great university. The university is over 5,500 acres long. It is one of the best schools for many majors such as medical degrees, and astronomy. Texas A&M is also gives you over 150 courses to study making it one of the top college's for many majors such as animal cloning and petroleum engineering Texas A&M is a great college to attend.
24: U | University of Texas University | The University of Texas is located in Austin, Texas there is many locations of U.T but Austin is the main one. Founded in 1883, U.T is one of the biggest schools in Austin. U.T athletics play in the Big 12 Conference of the NCAA division. U.T is famous for their mascot the longhorn, also known as Bevo, and for there successful athletic teams such as football, coached by Mac Brown. It was the fifth largest campus enrollment in the Fall of 2010 in the nation. U.T is a great school for there athletic and academic abilities
25: V | Volente Beach Water Park Recreation | Volente Beach Waterpark is located in Lake Travis, Austin and is a gateway for adults and children on a hot summer day that just want to have fun. Volente Beach isn't as famous as Schlitterbahn, but it's just as fun. Volente Beach Water Park is a fun place that has water slides, sand shore, volleyball court, and many other recreational items. It is small, but it is half the size of Schlitterbahn. Although the water is a tad bit dirty, it is fun! I hope you enjoy Volente Beach.
26: w | Waco City | Waco is located South-East of Dallas and has a long history. Waco has so many places of tourism even though it is not a big city like Austin, Dallas, or Houston. Population over 125,000 people, Waco is the home of the Baylor Bears, a great medical school. There was a major shootout in Waco in 1993, where many officers died. Waco also has a Dr. Pepper factory. Waco is the home of the White House Press Center, during the time of George W. Bush. Waco is an exciting, historical place which goes back to the 1800's.
27: X | XIT Museum Historical Importance | The XIT Museum is located in Dalhart, Texas where the museum contains many thing from the Old West. The museum is right across the Dalhart courthouse. The museum contains Western guns, clothing, food cans, and old western hats. It is on 108 East Fifth Street. XIT Museum is historical because it shows us what life was in the Old West. The XIT Museum to 9am to 5pm from Tuesday-Saturday, no admission fee.
28: Y | Yorktown Historical Importance | Yorktown is located in the DeWitt County of Texas having a population of over 2,000 people. This place contains most Native Americans and Hispanics and Latinos. This place was founded by John York. John York is an Indian officer who fought and defeated General Cos in the Battle of Bexar, thus taking the land and naming it after him. It is historical because he led soldiers and fought an army greater than his and winning the battle. Captain John York's grave is located in Yorktown, Texas.
29: Z | Zilker Park Recreation | Zilker Park is a recreational park located in south Texas. It is a famous place because it hosts the ACL (Austin City Limits). It is named after the benefactor Andrew Jackson Zilker, who donated the land in 1917. It was listed a historical place in 1997 though known as a recreational center. It contains, Barton Springs pool Zilker Botanical Garden, and the most famous part Zilker Zephyr miniature train for the kids. Zilker Park has many picnic areas and concession stands, also having historical landmarks throughout the park. Zilker Parks hosts many events and is one of the most famous parks in Austin, Texas
