BC: I had a great time in Disney World, even with the rain. I realized that some things (like the weather), cannot be controlled, but you just have to make the best of them. I will always have awesome memories of dancing in Disney, and I gave it a title it could live up to: The Soggiest Place on Earth
FC: The Soggiest Place on Earth. By: Allison Rowe
1: Dedicated to all my friends at Academy of Dance Arts. Thanks for the Memories!!!!
2: My Disney dance debut was about to begin, and the happiest place on Earth decided not to live up to its title. My dance studio offered a once in a lifetime chance to perform in Disney World. Finally, the show arrived, and I went to bed assuring myself that the show would be perfect. Well...maybe not.
3: On the morning of the show, the weather took a turn for the worse. Rain poured down, and a damp fog hung in the humid air. So much for a perfect day.
4: My dance friends and I met in the lobby all decked out in costumes for some pictures, but nobody was really in the mood for smiling. Then we got on a bus to head over to the stage.
7: We got to the stage, and it turned out to be a platform with an overhang that had obviously seen better days. Rain was leaking in through slats in the roof, and the stage looked more like a swimming pool than a dance floor. Even with the worsening conditions, our families supported us the entire time.
8: Once the show had started, my song came on. Our group raced on stage, as the first notes of our patriotic song blasted through the speakers. We danced like never before. Finally, I took my pose as the last notes of the song faded. My Disney experience on stage was over.
