2: Once upon a time, there were two young lovers who were absolutely clueless in the kitchen. With the cost of food rising, and their income plummeting, they decided to venture together into the unknown. These are the recipes that filled their tummies those first few months in the kitchen; these recipes will fill their hearts with warm memories for years to come. | 2

4: Italian Spice Mix | dried basil dried marjoram garlic powder oregano thyme rosemary crushed red pepper flakes sage parsley Store in an airtight container. Mix with olive oil or tomato sauce for a spaghetti topping. Use it to marinade meats. | 4

5: 5 | Taco Seasoning | 1 tablespoon chili powder 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin 1 teaspoon sea salt 1 teaspoon black pepper

6: 6 | Super Simple "Calzones" | Ingredients | hoagie rolls olive oil Italian spice mix salami pepperoni mozzarella cheese sliced ham marinara sauce

7: 7 | Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix olive oil and Italian spice mix. Spread on the hoagie rolls. Pile meats and cheese on bread as desired. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes, or until tue cheese is melted. Dip in marinara sauce. Yummy!

8: Crock Pot Apple Butter | 8 | 12 cups of apples 6 cups of sugar 6 tablespoons cinnamon 1.5 teaspoons ground cloves

9: 9 | Peel. core, and slice apples. Put in a crock pot and cover. Cook on high for 6-7 hours. Take cover off and cook an additional 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally until thick.

10: 10 | Corn Dog Muffins | 2 (8.5 ounce) packages corn bread mix 2 tablespoons brown sugar 2 large eggs 1 1/2 cups milk 9 whole hot dogs, diced 1 cup grated cheddar cheese ketchup, mustard, sour cream, honey mustard (for dipping)

11: 11 | 1. Preheat oven to 400F. Lightly grease mini muffin tins. 2. In a large bowl, stir together cornbread mix and brown sugar. In a small bowl whisk together eggs and milk, and then stir into dry mixture until moistened. Mix in cheese. 3. Spoon a good Tablespoonful into muffin tins, making sure you get some hot dog in each spoonful. 4. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool for about 10-15 minutes in the pan before removing. For easy removal, cut around outsides of the muffins, then tip upside down onto a large cutting board & urge the muffins out using a knife to tap the bottoms of the muffin tins. They should slide right out. 5. Serve warm with desired dipping sauces.

12: 12 | Baked Potato Soup | 3 bacon strips, diced 1 small onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon dried basil 1/2 teaspoon pepper 3 cups chicken broth 2 large baked potatoes, peeled and cubed 1 cup half-and-half cream 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce Shredded Cheddar cheese Minced fresh parsley

13: 13 | 1.In a large saucepan, cook bacon until crisp. Drain, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings. Set bacon aside. Saute onion and garlic in the drippings until tender. Stir in flour, salt, basil and pepper; mix well. Gradually add broth. Bring to boil; boil and stir for 2 minutes. Add the potatoes, cream and hot pepper sauce; heat through but do not boil. Garnish with bacon, cheese and parsley.

14: Macaroni and Cheese | 3 cups dried elbow macaroni 1 onion, chopped fine 2 tablespoons of butter 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon pepper 2.5 cups milk 1.5 cup shredded American cheese 1.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese

15: Cook macaroni in salted water about 10 minutes or until tender but still firm. Meanwhile, cook onion and butter in a medium saucepan till onion is tender but not brown. Stir in flour and pepper to make a thick paste. Add milk all at once. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, till slightly thickened and bubbly. Add cheese, stirring until melted. Stir cook macaroni into cheese sauce. Transfer mixture to casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving
