This book is lovingly dedicated to my two awesome daughters, Kristen and Kara, and to my grandchildren. | "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." III John 4
Once upon a time there were a lot of circles that lived together in a place called "Circleville"
There were also a lot of squares that lived together in a place called "Squaresville"
And there were several rectangles that lived together in a place called "Rectangleville"
Now one day a little triangle came to Shapesville to find some new friends.
The little triangle asked the circles if he could play with them, but they said "no", because he didn't look like them. They were all round and smooth.
Then the little triangle asked the squares if he could play with them, but they also said "no", because he didn't look like them either. They had 4 equal sides, and he only had 3.
Lastly, the little triangle asked the rectangles if he could play with them, but they said "no" too. Can you guess why?
The poor little triangle felt very sad and lonely, and he started to cry. All the shapes heard him crying, and they felt badly for not being kind to the little triangle.
So they decided to all play together!
Not only did they have fun, but they found out that if they played together, they could make something very special. They made a shape train! | But the little triangle asked, "May I be part of the train too?"
They all let the little triangle be at the very front of the train, and that made him feel very special.
The shapes in Shapesville learned a very important lesson that day: No matter what someone looks like they always need to feel loved and needed.
