FC: the North pole | By: Ashley Widner
One snowy morning in the North Pole, Tole wanted to know about the five themes of geography.
Tole went to look for just the right person who he could learn the five themes: Santa Claus.
He looked high and low. Finally, he found Santa! Tole asked,"What are the five themes of geography Santa?"
Santa said,"The five themes of geography are: location, human/environmental interactions, regions, places, and movement."
Location: You can determine a place's location by figuring out it's absolute or relative location. Absolute location is a way of describing where a place or an object is. Relative location is where you describe an object or place's location by telling what is near it. when describing relative location, you don not give the exact location.
Location santa said, "the absolute location of the North Pole is that it is located on the very top of the world (marked by a candy cane pole), above the equator, and northeast of Mr.Wonka's chocolate factory. the relative location is that it is above north america and russia."
human/environmental interactions | this looks at how people adapt to their environments and how they change it.
Human/ environmental interactions Santa said, "Elves change to the snowy environment by wearing warm, cute outfits and shoes with bells on them."
Region an area on earth's surface.
Region the north pole is a region because it is an area on the surface of the earth.
Place a place is the uniqueness (or sameness) of a location.
PLace | Santa said, "my workshop is considered a place because i make toys in my shop. That is why it is unique.
movement | movement is the mobility of people, goods, and ideas across the the surface of the earth.
M | ovement | santa said, "i use my sleigh and flying reindeer to visit every child around the world and deliver christmas presents."
after santaTole said,"Thank you santa!" and with that, left with a grin on his face. | after santa was finished telling tole the five themes of geography, tole said, "thank you santa claus!" with that, santa giggled and tole left with a grin on his face because he now knew the five themes.
