S: SUMMER 2011

BC: RED ROCK CANYON, SEDONA, AZ

FC: CAMPING | 2011

1: FROM JUNE 21 TO JULY 4, 2011, WE TRAVELED 1125 MILES AS WE VISITED THE NATIONAL PARKS OF ARIZONA AND UTAH. EACH HAD ITS OWN GRAND VISTAS AND WONDERFUL COLORS THAT ONLY GOD COULD CREATE. THOSE PARKS WERE: GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK IN ARIZONA; BRYCE NATIONAL PARK IN UTAH; ZION NATIONAL PARK IN UTAH. WE DROVE OUR 2005 BT CRUISER AND TOWED THE AZERA. WE STAYED IN NATIONAL AND PRIVATE CAMPGROUNDS, RV PARKS, AND EVEN JUST OFF THE ROAD. AND IN JULY, WE HEADED FOR COLORADO TO VISIT OUR COUSIN. WE GOT FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE AND LOOKS AT PAST AND PRESENT WAYS OF MINING GOLD. WE HAD A GREAT GATHERING OF THE DIX CLAN ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND. THAT TRIP ENDED WITH A HARROWING TRIP THROUGH THE RED ROCK CANYON OF SEDONA, AZ BECAUSE THE ROAD WAS MEANT FOR JEEPS, NOT SEDANS!

26: AT ZION NATIONAL PARK, YOU ARE AT GROUND LEVEL AND MOSTLY LOOKING UP, AS COMPARED TO BRYCE WHERRE YOU WERE LOOKING DOWN AT LANDSCAPES. | BECAUSE OF HIGH WATER FARTHER BACK IN THE CANYON, AND THE CHANCE OF FLASH FLOOD, THAT AREA WAS CLOSED TO HIKERS WHEN WE WERE THERE.

27: THE PARK TRAM

29: WHEN WE GOT CLOSE TO THE NORTH RIM, WE TOOK A SIDE ROAD AND PULLED THE CAMPER INTO THE TREES AND DRY CAMPED THERE OVERNIGHT. NO ELECTRIC, NO TV. HOW QUIET IT WAS AND SO MANY STARS.
