2: Mesopotamia Mesopotamia land is between the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers. Mesopotamia uses irrigation. The Mesopotamian rivers flood and produce silt, a rich soil. The government is controlled by the priests who hear from god. Mesopotamia also uses slavery.
3: The Mesopotamians are polytheistic. The city states are always at war. Mesopotamia lives by Hammurabi's code. | Mesopotamia lives by Hammurabi's code. Mesopotamia also use the wheel and sails to make transportation easier.
4: Egypt Egypt was the first civilization to use geometry. The Nile river provides fertile land. | Egypt's climate is usually hot and dry. Egypt is surrounded by desert. The river flows south to north in Egypt.
5: The Pharaohs were seen as gods and they ruled as kings. Egypt is polytheistic and the sun god is one of the most important gods. Egypt was divided between lower and upper kingdoms until united in 3000 B.C. Egyptians builded pyramids for their pharaohs. They're way of writing was with hieroglyphics.
7: Indus Indus is between the Indus and Ganges rivers. Indus has monsoon which are seasonal winds that bring water or dry air. The Indus rivers flood. Indus has the Himalaya mountains to the north. Indus has cities planned on a grind system. The major buildings are in the center. Indus has a strong central government. Indus is polytheistic. They started to plumb and use sewage systems. Indus has a written language.
8: China China is between the Yellow and Yangtze rivers. Rivers flood and leave behind loess. The Himalaya mountains are on the south and the Gobi desert on the north. China see their culture as center of civilized world. China has the mandate of heaven.
9: China uses feudalism which is when the king gives military service. The Chinese families are central. China has flood control and irrigation. Chinese buildings are made out of wood. China has bronze and iron working.
