S: Caleb first grade 2010-2011
FC: Caleb first grade 2010-2011
1: Caleb, You are just about to begin first grade. You will now be gone all day everyday. That will feel weird to me. I liked having you home every other day last year. This year will be a bit of an adjustment for you. Not only will you be gone everyday, but you will be spending half of your day in a Spanish-immersion program. You will learn all your math, science, and social studies in Spanish and will learn all your literacy in English. We hope you do well in this kind of a set up. I enjoyed this past summer with you. You have become fast friends with Kurt and Indy Walstrom across the street. Many many hours were spent playing with them at our home, outside on the swing set, and at their home. You have also taken quite an interest in fishing with Daddy this summer. I love you so much Caleb. You are such a good friend to others and play so nicely with other kids. You are very good about remembering to read your Bible at night and pray willingly at the table before meals. It has been fun to watch you learn more and more about Jesus. You have also expressed an interest in being a part of the worship team at Club K-Rock. I think you would enjoy singing on stage and doing all the actions during weekend programming. I think we will also start you in AWANA this year. You will have to memorize lots of verses, but you would be good at that. We may also let you try out a sport this spring or summer. We will wait to see what you have an interest in. Of course, there is very little you won't do! You seem to have an interest in everything! Well, my first born son, I love you today, tomorrow and forever. Never forget that! I hope you have a fantastic first grade year and I look forward to filling this book with pictures and stories of all the things you have learned to do, experienced and tried. You make me very proud! Love, Mom
