FC: 8 Day Caribbean Cruise - January 2011

1: On December 30th, 2010, Jessi and Kevin braved a snowstorm to drive to Des Moines first thing in the morning for our second cruise. We finally made it to Florida after a few delays and an exhausting day of traveling and were joined by Michael and Rachel the next day. On January 1st, 2011, the group left Florida aboard the MS Carnival Freedom for an eight day Eastern Caribbean cruise. Ports of call were San Juan, Puerto Rico; Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands; Antigua; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and Nassau, Bahamas. | On December 30th, 2010, Jessi and Kevin braved a snowstorm to drive to Des Moines first thing in the morning for our second cruise. 5: At the end of the first night, we met Ryan, our cruise director, and Carnival mascot Funship Freddy, a few guests got embarrassed on stage, and Michael and Kevin saw a very unfunny comedian.

6: Day 2: Day at Sea We played trivia, toured the ship, caught up on sleep, and avoided the men's hairy chest contest as best we could.

7: For the first elegant night, we got dressed up and enjoyed dinner while fending off photographers. Back in our rooms, we found our first towel animal.

8: Day 3: Half day at Sea and San Juan, PR We ate ice cream, played more trivia, and enjoyed the sights of Old San Juan sailing by. | Day 3: Half day at Sea and San Juan, PR We ate ice cream, played more trivia, and enjoyed the sights of Old San Juan sailing by.

20: Day 5: Antigua We planned ahead for Antigua and booked Eli's Eco Tour with Adventure Antigua. We toured the island nation and got to hear about its history and wildlife, and made a stop for lunch at Bird Island followed by a trip to Hell's Gate. After a little snorkeling, our captain made sure everyone was soaking wet before dropping us off. | Day 5: Antigua We planned ahead for Antigua and booked Eli's Eco Tour with Adventure Antigua. 41: The highlight of the day was definitely feeding the lorries at the zoo. For a small donation, we each got a cup of apple slices that the birds were more than happy to take off our hands. Jessi was a little scared of the birds. | The highlight of the day was definitely feeding the lorries at the zoo.
