S: Celebrating Kent's BOMA Career
FC: Celebrating 22 years of service and leadership
Kent, Minneapolis is better because of you. May your next adventures be as rewarding! ~ Your Friends at BOMA.
We'll all miss Kent. One thing I remember is how hospitable he was and proud when we all came to Minneapolis for the convention in 1997. I believe Kent and I served as BAE Council Officers around the same time and he took us out on his boat on the lake. Kent is always the gentleman, always professional and knowledgeable. I picked his brain many times over the years. Jeannie Bernard, CAE Denver Metro BOMA | Kent was our wise, articulate BAE guru who did everything right in Minneapolis but was very humble about his accomplishments. He was very involved in advocacy and helped focus its importance, even influencing BOMA International. There were many in the Midwest who saw the meaninglessness of the regional meetings in cities of the region. Before we stopped them, Kent prepared our region's bylaws and gave us guidance and a foundation that we could use going forward in our regional meetings at the conventions. He is the person any BAE could go to with questions on operations, management and advocacy. He was low key, but possessed a wealth of knowledge about BOMA and especially about running one of the larger BOMA associations. Larry Weintraub, BAE BOMA St. Louis
Your support of Project for Pride in Living as BOMA's charity partner helped make Minneapolis a better place to live, as well as work. | In 2008, City Center recognized you in their display of city leaders. | BOMA's advocacy efforts to support the development of a Twins stadium were realized when we had the opportunity for a behind-the-scenes tour of Target Field in 2010. | Over the years you've headed off a number of "dumb ideas." Here's an example of one.
Over the years, you represented the interests of commercial real estate on a myriad of issues, including taxes, transportation, transit, elevator codes, plumbing codes, and sports stadiums. Thank you! | "Advocacy and Education for Commercial Real Estate"
You have a standing invitation to join us for the Annual Market Outlook! | Serious Fun! | Or join us for a "Taste of BOMA" | Midtown Market | BOMA Young Professionals will always have need of mentors. | When we bring back summer socials, your name will be on the invitation list!
Holiday Parties | Golf Tournaments | You're invited!
Kent’s leadership has made BOMA a highly respected organization in Minneapolis. His ability to effectively navigate City Hall and the Capitol, advocating for issues important to the BOMA membership yet never burning a bridge, has been extremely valuable to the membership. His industry knowledge and professionalism has kept BOMA at the table on important downtown issues including transportation and the DID. I am glad to have worked with him over the years and enjoyed spending time with Kent and Ruth at BOMA International events. I wish him well as he transitions to retirement. He will be greatly missed. Tina Hoye Nelson, Tietz & Hoye | Board of Directors Annual Planning Retreats
BOMA president Brian Burg hosted the retirement reception.
Mayor R.T. Rybak proclaimed November 10 "Kent Warden Day" in the city of Minneapolis. | BOMA International Staff sent their best wishes via video.
