4: Hooke was an English scientist who looked at cork through a compound microscope and observed tiny room-like structures that reminded him of the "cells" that monks lived in. 5: Schwann was a German Biologist who viewed animal parts under a microscope and discovered that animals were made up of cells. He extended Schleiden's cell theory in plants to animals, stating that all living things are composed of cells. | Theodor Schwann (1839)

10: Nucleus, nucleolus Vacuole and Mitocondrion. | The nucleolus holds ribosomes. The nucleus is the inner part of the cell that holds DNA. Found in eukaryotic cells. Helps with growth, metabolism and reproduction. 11: Golgi apparatus Smoothe & rough endoplasmic reticulum & ribosomes & lysosomes | Lysosome- They are small, spherical organelles that contain the cell’s digestive enzymes. The ER, Golgi apparatus, and lysosomes work together in the production, packaging, and distribution of proteins. | Rough ER- An extensive system of internal membranes that move proteins and other substances through the cell. The Smooth ER does not have any ribosomes. The function of the Smooth ER is to make lipids and breakdown toxic substances.
12: Ribosomes- They are found in the ER of a cell and it’s the cellular structure on which proteins are made. It’s composed of RNA and protein; the site of protein synthesis. Cytoplasm- The cytoplasm consists of all of the contents outside of the nucleus and enclosed within the cell membrane of a cell. This includes the cytosol and in eukaryotic cells, organelles such as mitochondria and ribosomes. Also located within the cytoplasm is the cytoskeleton, a network of fibers that help the cell maintain its shape and give it support. The cytoplasm is clear in color and has a gel-like appearance. It is composed mainly of water and also contains enzymes, salts, organelles, and various organic molecules. The cytoplasm helps to move materials around the cell and also dissolves cellular waste.
13: Cell membranes are made up of lipids. They are fluid like bubbles. It separates the inside of the cell from the outside of the cell. Only certain substances are allowed through the membrane.
15: Homeostasis the tendency of a system, especially the physiological system of higher animals, to maintain internal stability, owing to the coordinated response of its parts to any situation or stimulus that would tend to disturb its normal condition or function.
