FC: the Luke family Colorado 1989-1990

1: Colorado 1989 | After working two and a half years for Arthur Andersen Public Accounting Firm in the Bay Area, Eric accepted a District Manager position with Varsity Contractors, fulfilling a great desire of living once again in the glorious state of Colorado. Eric, Kathy, Amber and Kimberly moved to Westminster, Colorado from Oakland, California in February of 1989. Our friends, Brian and Sandy Ostler were managing the Park Place Town Homes in Wheatridge, CO so we rented a place from them for a couple of months until we purchased our first home. Sandy ran a day care center and soon welcomed Amber and Kimberly into her home while Kathy began employment at Nursing Personnel Corporation and Hospital Shared Services of Colorado working evening and night shifts at various hospitals in their NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) including Denver General, Saint Anthony North, Humana in Aurora, Saint Lukes, and Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center. Eric was enjoying his job keeping very busy and working long hours; but stuggling with the stigma of a "janitorial company". Eric decided to take a 180 degree turn and add "Country" to his life. From music to the great outdoors, Eric became a true "Country Coloradan". The beauty of the Rocky Mountains is unsurpassed. Hunting and fly fishing became passions over night. The enormous blessings of being in Colorado were just emerging! | 1

35: Sea World was founded in 1964 by four graduates of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). They had originally considered the idea of building an underwater restaurant. Although this idea was not technically feasible, the concept grew into the idea of a marine zoological park on 22 acres along the shore of Mission Bay in San Diego. With an initial investment of $1.5 million, 45 employees, several dolphins, sea lions, and two seawater aquariums, SeaWorld drew more than 400,000 visitors its first year. | 35
