S: All About Dill by Breahna Hunter and DeMarcus Edwards
This book is dedicated to Atticus, Scout and Jem.
Hi, My name is Charles Baker Harris. Most folks call me Dill. I live with my bossy step father and my mother. in Meridan, Mississippi. I am 6 six years old fixin' to be 7 and this summer I'm going to Maycomb, Alabamawith my Aunt Rachel. I sure am hoping that this summer will be super fun and that I'll meet some new friends. | My life ain't the greatest. My mom doesn't give me a lot of attention, and my step dad is bossy and mean. People say that I'm little, but I feel like I'm old. I can read real good and I like to do it for fun. I love using my imagination and I like being free and doing whatever I want to do, without people yellin' at me.
This summer I was with my Aunt Stephanie. My parents keep passing me around so I don't think that they want me anymore. I met two kids named Jem and Scout. Scout is beautiful. I want to marry her someday and we are going to grow a happy family unlike mine. Her daddy's name is Atticus is a lawyer and he's very nice.
Scout is the most important girl in my life. Me and her get along real well and when we get older, someday we are gonna get married and live in Maycomb together. We made plans to this summer. She is the only reason why I want to return to back.
As Sweet As Spring | SCOUT
This is Jem, me and Scout playin' on the old tires.
Jem is like a brother to me. When I first met him I knew we were gonna be friends. I'm gonna miss all the good times we spent together playin' games outside and stuff. He is the bestest friend I've ever had. Atticus is like the dad I wish I had. He teaches me things about not judging other people and about how you should respect all people, even the coloreds. He's a good man and I'm glad I got to meet him.
I will never ever forget the time when me, Jem and=Scout would play games and act out the books we'd read even though sometimes it got a little boring. One time, Jem started telling me all about Boo Radley who lived down the street. I was so into the stories that I wanted to go see what Boo was like for myself. I dared Jem to go touch the house and he did.
Looking back over my younger years, my favorite memory was sneaking on my way to Maycomb and surprising Scout. The look on her face made me feel like I was at home with family unlike the one I had in Meridan. I can't thank the Finch's enough for all that they did for me. They are a great people.
ARTIFACTS | This court-handle represents the trial of Tom Robinson that I was at. I know it was wrong what the people were sayin' about him. He was a good man. | This tire reprsents the time that me and Jem rolled Scout down the street and she ran into the Radley's house.
