 Table of Contents 1. Astronomy: pg.2,3 2.History of Venus: pg.4,5 3. Weather & Meteorology pg.6,7 4.Geology: pg.8,9 5. Bibliography pg.10

"Did you know?" that Venus doesn't have any rings nor' moons? | Astronomy The diameter of Venus is 12,104 km.(7,522m.) As of the mass is 4.87x10^24 kilograms. The density is 5243 kg/m^3. The rotation of Venus is 243 days. And, half of that is the hours of daylight which is 121.5 hours. Other than that, it takes Venus 0.62 years to make one revolution. The surface gravity on Venus is about 91% of the surface gravity on Earth, so about the same amount of gravity. Last but not least, the average distance from Venus to the sun is 67,237,910 miles.

-Pioneer 2 : Country: U.S.A Launch date: May 20,1978 Arrival date: Dec. 4th ,1978 . Type of mission Orbiter, Our Probes parachuted through the atmosphere. | -Pioneer 1: Country U.S.A. Launch date Aug. 8,1978. Arrival date Dec. 9 1978. Type of mission atmosphere. Periapsis 200 km. Apoapsis 66,000 km. period 24 hours. Inclination 29* 30 operated until 1992. When contact was lost first spacecraft to use radar in mapping the planets surface.

History of Venus No one really knows who or when Venus was discovered. These are some of the main missions that occurred: -Mariner 5:Country.U.S.A launch date June 14,1967.Arrival October 19,1967.The type of mission is flyby. Dual planets mission to Venus and mercury closest approach 34,833 km. -Mariner 10 : Country U.S.A launch date November 3rd, 1973, Arrival date: October 19, 1967, Type Flyby, Closest approach: 5,700 km. -Galileo: Country U.S.A & Europe. Launch date Oct. 18,1989. Arrival date Feb. 10,1990. Type of mission flyby. Images and rear infrared data on clouds. Used Venus to pick up speed out ways to Jupiter. -Magellan: Country: U.S.A, Launching date: May 4, 1989, Arrival date: August 10, 1990, Type:Orbiter, Characteristics:Mapped Venus using synthetic Aperture radar. The imagine system produced images at 300 meters resolution.

Weather & Meteorology | -Winds: High-speed winds in the upper atmosphere are rushing at nearly 200 miles per hour. -Precipitation: Venuses thick clouds are taken as drops of sulfuric and battery acid, one of the most toxic, poisonous acids known

Venus has an heavy atmosphere all around it. The atmosphere is mostly made of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouses hold the sun's warmth so plants can grow. Venus works the same way as a greenhouse. Also, 3% nitrogen is also in the atmosphere as of other gases as well. | "Did you know?" Venuses clouds/precipitation could make metals disappear!

 - | GEO | -Processes: Craters are very hot that means when something hits Venus and it lands near a crater it will melt. There are about 900 craters on Venus just like Earth

-Mountains:the four main mountains are named Maxwell Montes, Akna Montes, Danu Montes and these are the four main Venus mountains they are found on Ishtar. These mountains are created by folding and buckling planet crust. -Volcanoes: They have numbers of shield volcanoes on Venus .The numbers of volcanoes they all of them at least erupted at one point of time. | Surfaces: Venuses surface is very hot."Its like standing in a oven". It has many surfaces such as mountains, canyons, and volcanoes | -Materials: Venus is made up of a lot of things similar to Earths materials. Its made of central iron, rocky mantle. The atmosphere is mostly made up of carbon dioxide (96%) and nitrogen (3%) and a small amount of other gases. | LOGY
