S: FOOTSTEPS IN THE FIELD -- STEG PAA MARKA
BC: FOOTSTEPS IN THE FIELD is a beautiful pairing of the photo images with word images, drawn upon the reader’s mind’s eye. I am privileged to know the work of this wonderful writer. She packs “home, heart and soul” in to each word chosen. She speaks with ancient knowing, weaving a story known only to her, and yet she tells my story, too. I first heard her read her work in the 1980’s and cherish that moment. Her work is a gift to the reader. Annell Livingston poet and artist | STEG PAA MARKA
FC: FOOTSTEPS IN THE FIELD Steg Paa Marka | Poems by Aase Lilleskare Faugstad with Photographic art by Kristin K. Hand
1: Take a walk with us through the fields and countryside. We'll see the four seasons of nature, and explore the seasons of the heart: Love, loneliness, peace, and happiness. The poems are presented in both English and Norwegian. The translations were made by the poet, herself. Enjoy!
48: Dedication JACQUELINE HAND LACEY was the photographic artist’s aunt, and the poet’s AFS exchange sister (American Field Service student exchange). Just before the 50th reunion of the high school graduation of the two “sisters” in New York where they were to meet after many years, Jacqueline passed away unexpectedly. We dedicate our book to Jacqueline: a talented artist herself in several arts: calligraphy, painting, acting, music, and textiles. We will never forget her exuberance and joy of living. | About the Poet AASE LILLESKARE FAUGSTAD lives in Norway.
