At GSMST, We can be anything we wish. Except sports stars, And Patrick the Starfish. So much work, Procrastination, Math and Science, High expectations. You give us hope, except when we fail. You have tech gurus. You set our lives' ships asail You welcome my magic bookbag, stuffed with knick-knacks, Pointless items, and patty-whacks. I can't find a reason to leave your halls. Except when I graduate, that will be a ball. Though some of your classes may be a bore, you help us do anything, we strive for
You have everything, except athletics. You help us. Math is arithmetic. GSMST, We love you. Though sometimes, you make me blue.
 Language Arts
An original poem by Garrett Spain
Language arts is a wonderful time Full of metaphors and similes and rhyme Mrs. Glenn teaches us punctuation We like to use alliteration Writing and reading and spelling all day We don't just do it any old way We use oxymorons and hyperboles Writing is really such a breeze I believe I lost my thought of train Writing gives me such hand pain These stories have so much feeling Language Arts is really appealing
 My Mother's Kitchen
an original poem by Garrett Spain
My mother's kitchen is a wonderful place usually filled with sights and smells That make you crinkle your face and blow you away But when she cooks those gross remains of leftover spinach it makes you yell The oven's a mother's lode of nasal pain Smelling of death and decay My sisters screams to my mother "What died in there" my mom replies "Its just your dinner now go get your brother" Guess we're gonna starve tonight But sometimes when she cooks steak she hears so many sighs we can't wait for dinner to bake It smells good alright We sit down and wonder when it will be done Then she rings the dinner bell we get up and run we're gonna eat good today
 Self-Respect Poem
Another original poem by Garrett Spain
Sometimes I really try, sometimes I don't. sometimes I want to fly, sometimes I won't. Depend on my attitude, I my even be rude. It reallyt just depends on what I have to do. Im not the average kid in the corner. And I ain't gonna care if you leave. But I learned to do what I need to succeed. Because I am a tree. I'm not your nerdy punching bag. My worth is not determined by how much money I have No matter what you say, I will always be, a freak but I am free
 The world's Greatest poem
The most original poem by Garrett Spain
Turtle, Turtle, Not so slow. Not so scared, But not so bold. In his shell he hides from me. No daylight viewed, What does he see? When I can't follow him, Does he fight crime, Or run away? Beat the hare, Or sleep all day? Find a bush, or eat his mush? Have a ball, Or go to the mall, Or play with a doll? Does he need a nightlight for his shell? Or is he not afraid? Does he feel fright?
Turtle, Turtle, Not so slow. Not so scared, but not so bold.
