Dedicated to Mr.Cameron, Ms. Morris, Mrs. Arnold, Mom, and Dad.
Prince Henry lived from 1394 to 1460. He was born in Oporto, Portugal.
He was a prince because he was the third son of King John and Queen Phillippa. Also he had an English wife. | King John, Henry's father.
He was a soldier and patron of explorers. Then he started having interests in making a navigation school.
No sooner after that he was nicknamed "Henry the navigator". | So he started a navigation school with captains, mapmakers, and professional everything that had to do with sailing. So he then could use them to go on voyages. So you could say he had lots of people to do his job. Which led him to never taking a voyage himself.
After his pupils were taught everything of everything. He put them to the test by sailing ships along the west coast of Africa. His first ship reached Maderia in 1420. Next went around Cape Bojador in 1434. Sailed then to Cape Blanc. After that the next ship went around Cape Vert in 1455. His fifth and last ship sent out to Gambia River in 1456 and then almost reached the end of Africa's west coast line in 1459 -1460 to the Cape of Palama.
But before he finished his goal he passed in 1460 and his ships never got to the other side. REST IN PEACE Henry | "This is not actually his head stone it just looked pretty and big so it looked like his".
 Amerigo Vespucci
He was born in 1454 Florence, Italy. He got into what he did in business by his uncle mentoring him.
As soon as he had a good business involving trade. He left to Seville, Spain for more trade.
While he was there he was helping out another famous explorer with his next voyages with trading and a few other serious matters. His name was "Christopher Columbus". What he did for Christopher was helpful for Chris's voyage and the publicity for Amerigo"s business. This was when his business took off big.
By 1496 he had been very skilled in navigating.
Then he got interested in finding a faster way to get to Asia. So he decided to go on no more than two voyages and no higher than four voyages. He mostly explored Central America and South America in places like Venezuela and Brazil. His so called funds for his work and his afterward studies were from Spain and Portugal around 1497-1504.
After his voyages in 1501-1502 he was one of the 1st to come up with the idea that North and South America are part of a "New World" the two continents were not part of Asia.
In 1507 was his time to shine. He was honored to have North and South America named after him because of a pamphlet titled "The Four Voyages of Amerigo". But only at first he was named after South America. Then both continents were decided to be named after Amerigo.
After his glory was over he went back to Seville, Spain to work at his old job.
Until he passed in 1512. REST IN PEACE Amerigo
