FC: Sir Gawain The Two Swords
One day, the green knight came into King Arthur's court and gave King Arthur a challenge. The challenge was if you can hit me with this ax anywhere, in a year in a half I'll give you that same hit back.
Sir Gawain cared about his king and didn't want to see his king get harmed so he took the challenge instead.
Sir Gawain left to go find the Green Knight. On his way, he comes upon a castle. The lord of the castle allows Sir Gawain to stay there. The lord made a deal with Sir Gawain; he would go out hunting every day and will exchange his winnings for anything Sir Gawain has gotten by staying at the castle.
On the first day, the lord's wife kisses Sir Gawain while the lord is out hunting. When the lord returned, Sir Gawain kissed him. The second day, the lord's wife kissed him twice, and when the lord returned from hunting Sir Gawain gave the lord the two kisses he had received.
On the third day, the lord's wife gave three kisses and lace that was supposed to protect Sir Gawain from harm. He gave the three kisses but kept the lace to himself. He had to go meet the Green Knight the next day.
Sir Gawain met with the Green Knight. He gave the Green Knight the opportunity to strike him. The first two times he missed, and the third time he only slightly cut his neck. The Green Knight revealed himself to be the lord Sir Gawain had stayed with. The entire three days had been a test of Sir Gawain's honesty and loyalty.
