Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them mark off the seasons, days, and years. Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth.” And that is what happened. God made two great lights—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set these lights in the sky to light the earth, 18 to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And evening passed and morning came, marking the fourth day. Genesis 1:14 - 19 NLT

“You are the light of the world— like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. Matthew 5:14 - 15 NLT

How do we keep our lamp shining? | “You are the light of the world— like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:14 - 15

“Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light.... “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Matthew 6:22, 24 NLT

Happy? Sad? Empty? Peaceful? Light? Darkness?

The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. John 1:4 - 5 NLT

The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. John 1:5 NLT | The lights are shining in the darkness of the tunnel.

Disney knows how to light up the dark. Some lights are plugged in a light source but others are reflecting the light.

For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this Light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this Light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. II Corinthians 4:5 - 7 NLT | ...We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.

OUR POWER SOURCE | Our power source is our Lord. The closer we get to Him the stronger His light shines in us. Because we are fragile, we need to stay close by reading His Word, prayer, and spending time reflecting on His character and blessing.

What is your power source so that you can be the lamp on the hill and not under a bushel?

"Friends are Flowers that Never Fade"

REFLECTION | What are you seeing on the next page? Is that the quality of Jesus' reflection that people see when they are with you? Are they able to see Christ or just you?

REFLECTION | This is the real picture. It is a reflection of the sky in a river. The trees around the outside let you know what you are really viewing. | Ask yourself again: what do people see when they look at me? Do they see The Light or just me?

REFLECTION | These pictures are reflections of the lamps through a glass door. I thought that they would show just the lamp but instead we see the wall and items around the lamps. | When we reflect Christ, is this what happens? Is Christ a little blurry and is our life lit up too? | If so, what do others clearly see? Do they see Who Christ is? Does our whole life reflect His will?

For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Ephesians 5:8 - 10 NLT

HE is the Light of the World

HIS Light Leads to Peace | Plugged In | Reflecting His Light | My desire is that people see Him in me.

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow Me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the Light that leads to life.” John 8:12 NLT
