FC: The Virtual Child Part 1 | "Children learn through exploration and all using all their senses." --Jean Piaget--

My baby is girl, her name is Aiden. She is a premature baby with a little underweight, but she seems very healthy.

At the Age of 3 Months... Sometimes Aiden becomes fussy, and it is difficult to soothe, or has a difficult to sleep during the night time.

I noticed that children at the age of three months, their sleeping had a circle routine: sleep 3 hours long and wake up 3-4 hours. Therefore, I tried to keep the routine pretty regular (feeding, playing, napping) and try to get Aiden to adapt it gradually.

At the age of 8 month Aiden's motor skills are typical for age: crawling, sitting up, and standing up, but not walking yet. Aiden is able to make different sound, such as "MomMom" and "DaDa".

Between the age of 12-15 month Aiden is able to imitate new words and actions, therefore I modeling interesting new behavior and words, and praising her when she imitates me. Aiden learns to walk recently,When she does something potentially dangerous, such as walking out into the street, I put on a scared face, speak in a frightened voice, and tell her, "No! You can get hurt!"

At the age of 18 -24 month Aiden is less clingy lately, and often wants to be put down to explore rather than to be held. Her favorite places to venture out are the park and the store.

By analyzing each developmental stage of my virtual child, I am able to assess the child's growth, understand the process of one's physical, emotional and intellectual development. This upstanding guides me how to plan my curriculum in the future early childhood education, and teach me how to demonstrate my skill in analyzing children.

This assignment allowed me explore the roles of a child, parents and teachers. As a result, parents and teachers are very important for a child's life. If parents and teachers are better to understand a child's development, the child will be easier to reach his or her developmental milestones. Raise a child has given me the opportunity to use what I am learning in the class and demonstrate on the real situation.

"The path of development is a journey of discovery that is clear only in retrospect, and it's rarely a strait line" ---Eileen Kennedy-Moore
