S: Old Yeller Fred Gibson

 A | Arliss

Arliss was a good boy. He had a dog name,Old Yeller. Arliss loved to hunt. His dog was was some way a brave dog but scared. | Arliss had to be the man of the house while his dad left to go to Abilene,Kansas. This was to get "cash money," a thing that all Texans were short of in those years right after the Civil War.

 B | bear

BOMB!BOMB!BOMB!Mama bear came running for her baby bear because she heard him hollering.

 C | crazy

WATCH YOUR BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Crazy rabies is going around the animals like cazy. You never know when it will hit you,so be careful with who dog you're around or who dog you're with.

 D | dear

Down in the field came running,Old Yeller. He was trying to break of the fight, ruinnig Travis's fun watching the bulls bang heads and kick up dirt.

 E | everything

Everything was almost down to the ground. The two bulls ran down the fence .They were all the way into yard.

 F | figure

Figuring out why the snake hadn't bitten Arliss, but Mama took no more chances on snakes. She switched Arliss hard for catching that snake. Then she made him spend better than a week.

 G | good

"Get him, yeller," Travis yelled. "Tear him up!" And that's is what Old Yeller was trying to do,but a bear coon isn't an easy thing t tear up.

 H | hydrophobia

Wow! Have you heard about the disease that have been going around killing animals. Well I know one animal, his name is,Old Yeller, and he had got bit. Travis wasn't so sure if he was going to die or live. So Mama ask him if he couldn't that she will.

 I | ibidem

I sent him in a circle around the tree, beating on the grass and bushes with a stick, while I stood waiting. Sure enough, the squirrel got to watching Little Arliss and forgot me.

 J | jink

"Just cows to milk and wood to cut and young pigs to mark and fresh meat to shoot. But mainly there's the corn patch. If you don't work it right or if you let the oar mints eat up the roasting ears, will be without bread corn for the winder."

 K | Kansas

Kansas is what his father had to go to make money. He came in the late 1960's,the best remember. Anyhow,it was the year that Papa and a bunch of other Salt Licks settlers formed a "pool herd."

 L | Low

Like the first bull,he came blaring out into the clearing, then stopped,to snort and sling his wicked horns and paw up cloud of dust. He made it plain that he wanted to fight just asbad as the first bull.

 M | Mama

Mama came running to grab me by the arm. "Call the dog!" she said. "Put the dog after them!"

 N | Nettles

Nettles was the thing that Travis said he fell in when ever he got up scratching. But it didn't seem to bother Lisbeth.

 O | Outch

"Oh,no,Travis,"mama cried."Don't go out there!" "They're fixing to tear down the house,Mama,"I said.

 P | Papa

Papa wound up, "all we lack having a tight tail-holt on the world is a little cash money. And we can get that at Abilene."

 Q | Quiet

Travis cut the hogs ears, then all of a sudden, he falls out of the tree, and the hogs spot him. Travis got wounded in the leg by a hog. He was hurt bad.

 R | rocks

Rocks jolted Little Arliss till his teeth rattled. He got as much fun out of that as the rest of the ride. But the jolting hurt Old Yeller till sometimes he couldn't hold back his whinings.

 S | saved

She got a rope and tied one end of it to his right forefoot. To the other end, she tied a big heavy chunk of wood. By pulling hard,Jumper could move his drag along enough t graze and get to water.

 T | Trust

The drag on Jumper's foot saved the corn but it didn't save Mama from a lot of work. Jumper was always getting his chunk of wood hung up behind a bush or rock,so that he couldn't get away. Then he'd have himself a big scare and rear up,fighting the ropr and falling down and pitching and bawling.

 U | Understanding

Understanding something that goes on in their family is what they have in common. They can say something and the other member knows exactly what the other person is saying. That's is what they need in the family.

 V | veilleuse

Travis used a veilleuse to go find Mama and Jumper. Mama said to Travis,"Go get your gun,and fire up a light.!" Travis was sort of scared to shoot the wolf because he might shoot Old Yeller.

 W | Watermelon

Watermelons in the hot summer of to sleep when the might breezes weren't strong enough to push through the cracks between the cabin logs.

 X | xerothermic

It was a dry, hot summer and bad to be farming, but Travis had to work anyways. It sometimes didn't bother him, because was use to it. Very use to it.

 Y | yaff

Rooooooooofffffffff!Rooooofffffff! Old Yeller came barking at the bulls while they were fighting. He tried to be the hero. At least he tried.

 Z | zoophobia

Travis was afraid to shoot the wolf because he might hit Old Yeller. He wasn't so sure that he will hit just the wolf and not Old Yeller. He was too scared, but when he shot, he shot Old Yeller.
