6: ONE MONTH | Dear Owen, It is hard to believe you are already a month old. The first month of your life went by so fast. It is unbelievable how much love you have brought to your Mommy and Daddy's lives. Everyday we learn something new and have loved watching you discover the big world around you. You have gone from our little "pirate eye" boy to being alert and bright eyed for an hour or more at a time. You are such a happy baby, except for when you have tummy troubles. You already have so many silly nicknames, "Pirate eye, " "Monkey man," and "Kickinwing" are just a few. You continue to grow everyday and are starting to have little rolls on your legs and arms which make Mommy and Daddy smile. Daddy loves holding you and telling you all about sports, particularly OU football. You love to eat and you make the funniest noises while you eat. You've started to smile a lot and your smiles melt our hearts. Sometimes when you sleep you snore just like your Uncle David and Uncle Matt. ( OK, maybe not quite as intense but pretty loud for such a little guy!) You love to be outside on the front porch and when you get fussy that is your favorite spot to be rocked and held. Mommy will never forget the first day you looked right into her eyes and smiled. Nothing beats your happy spirit and great smiles. You have already brought so much joy and a new kind of love into our lives. We love you Owen Clark and can't wait for all the fun to come. Love, Momma and PaPa

8: two months | Dear Owen, You are two months old! It's hard to imagine what life would be like now without you. You have stolen our hearts with your contagious smiles and make every day better.Momma loves taking lots and lots of pictures of you. One of her favorites is you in your pearl snap shirt/cowboy bib Mimi made you.Your Papa loves to hold you. You guys have lots of fun talks and you even have "guy time" on Saturday and Sunday mornings so Mom can get a few extra hours of sleep. We love that you recognize our voices, and are now doing reciprocal cooing, (you know your SLP Momma has to take note of every language milestone you meet and make a huge deal out of it!) You are tracking and localizing to sounds too. You have discovered the animals on the mobile of your swing, and you try and "talk" to them too. This month you got to meet some of your great friends, sweet Avery and cutie pie Beckett. You have grown so much little man. At your 2 month appointment you weighed 10 pounds and 13 ounces and were 24 inches long. Your Pediatrician said you were "long and lean"...Daddy and I laugh because to us you look like a chubby boy...but apparently you are in the 23rd percentile for weight and the 80th percentile for length.. You are still a big eater and like to nurse every 3 hours... you usually sleep about 3-4 hours at night but have given us an occasional 5-6 hour stretch. Your tummy has not always been your friend but it is slowly getting better. Mom is doing her best to alter her diet to make sure what she is eating is not causing you any pain. We know your stomach will continue to get more mature We have spent lots of time outside because you love it and sometimes get your best naps when we are outside. I think you enjoy the warmth and the movement. Watching you grow is so fun and getting to be your parents is the best gift God has ever given us Owen Clark.. We love you!!

13: Started Cooing

14: THREE MONTHS | Dear Owen, You are 3 months old and our life with you is simply the best. We fall more in love with you every day. How is that possible? I am not sure, but somehow it happens. Our hearts become more full every day. I think it could because you have the best smiles, you have started laughing and it is so fun. The first night you laughed, your Papa was holding you and talking to you and for some reason you just started cracking up. You seem to be ticklish under your chin and above your knees. You have hilarious old man hair right now, which is the topic of lots of our conversations. Papa calls it your "Bill Murray" hair. You have started to be very interested in the world around you. You love to go for walks in the Baby Bjorn or in your stroller, you love watching Marley and love talking to your animals on your mobile and activity mat. You are getting so long. You love your baths and coo and giggle the whole time. This month you had lots of firsts: First trip to OKC First swim on your first 4th of July First baby shower with Mom First time in your Bumbo First time in Baby Bjorn

15: you have started to really enjoy looking at books and you stare and coo at the pictures. You DON’T like to go to sleep on your own and prefer to be rocked and sung to sleep ( poor guy, having to listen to Momma sing, but you seem to like it, I know that will change one day!) You are now sleep a 5 hour stretch at night, and then usually another 3 hour stretch after that. You still like to nurse about every 3 hours during the day, and are still wearing 0-3 month clothes but are growing out of many of them. You nap well during the day and are still mostly sleeping in the Rock n Play. We aren’t sure exactly how much you weigh or how long you are but we know you are growing a lot, and you continue to get more amazingly cute chubby rolls. You have quite the double “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” Love you, Momma and Papa LOVE YOU BOY! Momma and Daddy

17: First big smiles

18: Four Months | Dear Owen, 4 months have passed since your big debut into to this world Mr. Man. You have grown and changed so much since that time. You went from our little “pirate eye” baby, with a head full of brown hair, to our bright blue eyed boy with the funniest hair ever! You continue to have your original hair in the very front and in the back just not on the sides. It is pretty hilarious! Your hair is slowly growing back in on the sides and you are quite the blondie. We can't wait to see what it looks like when you are a year old. This month you have discovered so many things. First, you love your toes and feet, you are almost always holding on to them, you also love holding on to toys, batting at toys, and using your very loud voice! You “talk” all the time and sometimes even give us a little holler! We love it though! You also sometimes “yell sneeze/ or Mimi sneeze” as your Daddy likes to call it. It is so funny, and I think it even startles you sometimes. You are still our long and lean boy, Momma is doing her best to get some more weight on you! Hoping giving you a big bottle at bedtime and solids will start to fatten you up! Firsts this month: -You tried solids -You flew on an airplane to visit Uncle Matt and Aunt Rachel in Wyoming -You laughed at Marley dog - You slept 9 hours (twice, ha!) Your have developed a little personality that we love, you are one of the happiest babies we know and are also very “chill” most of the time. You don’t like to nap while we are at friends’ houses, instead you stay awake and take everything in. You are, however great at napping in the car and many times while we are running errands in your baby Bjorn. We are still working on “sleep training” and we are slowing getting better, but it is still not easy for either of us.

We are still working on “sleep training” and we are slowing getting better, but it is still not easy for either of us. Weight: 13.11 oz Height: 24.5inches Likes: Napping in your car seat while out in about, your play mat, reading books while hanging in the nap nanny, and playing in your pack n play Dislikes: Sleep training (aka falling asleep without Momma!) and not pooping for 9 days! Yes, 9 days! This was NO fun at all. But luckily on the 9th day you felt much better. You are over your swing and don’t like to be buckled into anything! Loves: Your toes, smiling, baths, people taking to you, Momma and Daddy, peaches and prunes mixed with cereal and breast milk, and books. Your favorite books this month are “Goodnight Moon,” and “Peek a Who?” You laugh at the ghost with the big eyes in the story every time! It’s hard to believe how much you have changed little one.

20: Milestones: Slept 9 hours (unfortunately for Mom, this only happened a few times) you usually sleep 7-8 hour stretches then get up to nurse and go right back down. You rolled from back to front a few times, tummy to back many times, and can hold yourself up with little assistance. Cooing and gooing, laughing, and screaming and your newest sound is a growl. (very strange, but so funny) Longer strings of cooing but no real consonants yet. I think you will be babbling up a storm very soon. You even say “hi” occasionally ha! I know it’s not really “Hi” but it sure sounds like it. Diet: Primarily breast milk but we did introduce solids after your 4 month doctor’s appointment. Mom decided to hold off for a couple weeks after you had cereal a few days. Maybe I was crazy, but I just didn’t think you were quite ready for it. We then introduced it later in the month and you have been eating fruits mixed with cereal ever since, you also tried avocado which you liked the first time but not so much the second or third time you tried it. It’s hard to believe how much you have changed little one. Life continues to get better each day you are in it baby boy. “We love you through and throughyesterday, today, and tomorrow, too” Momma and Papa

36: Eight Months | Dear Owen, It's hard to believe it's been eight months since you came into our lives. Momma and Papa are so proud to be your parents. You are such a sweet baby with a "happy go lucky" personality. You love to be on the move and have now mastered crawling and pulling up. This month was extra special because we celebrated Christmas as a family of 3! Can you imagine our sweet savior as tiny baby? Well, he was Owen, just like you,a tiny baby boy. We spent Christmas in Oklahoma with all of our family and you, of course, were spoiled rotten with gifts, attention, and affection. You are so loved by so many child. This month you started standing in your crib, so we quickly lowered the rails to keep you safe. We introduced finger foods to your diet, although, you were not a huge fan. You often acting like you were gagging when you had a little piece of food in your mouth. You do love blueberry muffins, mashed potatoes, and we found out Christmas morning that you LOVED cinnamon rolls! You still love Marley and have started to "chase"/crawl after her upstairs. One morning you all made quite the game of this and you giggled and giggled while maneuvering after her as quick as you could. This month you started saying "mama" with intent. You have 7 teeth and are sleeping okay, still up at least once I night. You still love your baths and we finally gave up the sink baths and moved you to the real tub. Baby boy, you are the light of our lives! All our love, Momma and Papa

40: Nine Months | Dear Owen, You are now 9 months old! It is still hard to believe how fast you are growing. We love the little boy you are becoming and can't imagine our lives without you. You are officially a baby on the go, constantly crawling and cruising. This month you have started to do many new things. One of your favorite things to do is "feed" Momma, Papa, or Marley! You giggle and giggle when we pretend to eat whatever you give us. You, however still prefer baby food over finger foods. You have started to wave and raise your arms up when you want something or someone. You have imitated "hi' and "bye" and say Mama and Dada. You love to keep yourself awake by either standing in your crib or talking to yourself. You added n's to your consonant repertoire this month and love to "talk" although, you are much quieter when you are not at home. You hate getting your diaper changed and constantly squirm and try and roll over on your changing table. You seem to enjoy books about animals most right now and you also love seeing other babies or kids. You watch them with such intent. You have started to blow raspberries again but now you do this on things like the ottoman or on Mom. You also try and stand up while nursing, it is hilarious to see and also pretty strange I am sure. You cut your 8th tooth this month and started the month off sleeping horribly, luckily by the end of the month it was a bit better, You love playing with Beckett and he is very sweet to you.

41: Your favorite toys are still "non-toys" and you prefer being rather than playing with toys. Your favorite places to pull up are on the dishwasher while Momma is loading or unloading it, on the back door where you stand and watch Papa and of course, on the ottoman. You still LOVE your Marley dog and love playing chase with her. Sweet, sweet boy you are our world we love you! Momma and Papa

47: 10 months | Dear Owen, You are getting so big! Where is the time going? You are a baby on the go, and son, you are FAST! You love to crawl up the stairs and are a big dare devil , you have no fear when it comes to crawling. You love to be outside and spend time on the porch. This month you said your first real words other than Moma and Dada, you said "Mawa" for Marley, da for dog, cat, and woof-woof. You love to point and have really perfected this skill in the last month. This month we discovered you love pumpkin pancakes and quiche! You have started to balance on your feet with out holding on to things but have yet to take a step. You are napping great and your night time sleep had gotten better until you got strep throat! We celebrated your first Valentines day this month and Momma covered you in kisses and of course took pictures! You say "hi" a lot these days and love to wave. Your new favorite things to do are; throw balls, play with cars, and grab Mom's nose! It is so funny to hear you "bark" when you hear a dog outside. It has become very clear what you want most of the time because you point, open and close your hand to indicate wants or sign "more." You can clap but only do so when you feel like it. We have been spending as much time outside as possible and you squeal and scream with excitement when we open the door. Baby boy you are developing into a toddler right before our very eyes and it is incredibly bittersweet! We love you to the moon and back! Momma &Papa
