S: Peru 2010

1: Arrived in Lima July 25, we had a layover in San Salvador, flights took about 9 hours. Flight to Chiclayo July 26.

2: The many ways we used to travel to Alita.

8: Marinara Dancers and Chiclayo July 29 & 30 | We got a flat tire! Too much weight for the tico?

11: We drove through Pacasmayo which is where Erica ran her first marathon. | We arrived in Huanchaco on July 30, it was cold and rainy. This was definitely not a beach day!!!

13: July 31st we toured Huaca de la Luna pyramid, just south of Trujillo.

14: As we leave northern Peru we remember all the wonderful people and places.

15: On Sunday, August 1st we witnessed a military ceremony in Chiclayo before we went to marinera dancing on horseback.

16: Monday, August 2 we flew to Lima.

17: After we checked into the hotel we met Kelly and her family.

18: On Tuesday, August 3rd we toured Lima in the morning and the Gold Museum in the afternoon.

20: Cusco

21: August 4th, we flew to Cusco. | This was our base for touring the countryside.

22: Cusco from the hillside. | Ollantaytambo complex outside of Cusco.

23: Continuing on the Sacred Valley tour.

25: The countryside and market were very interesting. | Chrystina became ill and did not tour with us.

26: Machu Picchu

28: Chrystina ended up in Clinica San Jose SAC (the hospital)!

29: August 8 we flew back to Lima. Chrystina stayed in the hotel and we shopped in Lima. The morning of August 10th we flew home. | The flight was long with a layover in San Salvador.
