House Mom! | Our house mom Carolyn Padgitt is awesome! We love her! She makes our sorority house feel more like a home. She really feels like a second mother. She helps with issues around the house and if we need something she is always here for us. Our chapter would not be the same without our wonderful house mom, Carolyn!

Fall Recruitment | Fall recruitment went amazing this year! The week started with Spirit Day where the potential new members got to talk to girls from each sorority for only seven minutes, and then later in the week the PNMs were welcomed into our house for Philanthropy Day. There they decorated bookmarks for local children and learned about Pi Phi's support for literacy. | Next, on Video Day the PNMs were given a house tour and watched a video showing them just how much fun Pi Phis have together. Finally, the week ended with Preference Day, and the PNMs experienced the true bond of sisterhood we share as Pi Phis! Everyone was so excited with all of the new members who were invited to Bid Day, we couldn't have asked for a better pledge class!

 Bid Day!

 Big Sis Reveal

Pre-initiation days were very eventful for the new members. They learned all about Pi Phi's and our chapter's history from their New Member Coordinator, Alex Bendall, and her assistants, Dana Soucek and Kelsey Schmitt. Also, they enjoyed attending formal dinners, social events, date parties, tailgates, and other sisterhood events with the active members!

 Initiation

Scholarship | To our chapter, scholarship is very important. Our VP of Membership Development this semester was Samm Chartrand. She worked hard to encourage our chapter to succeed in our academics. This semester we worked to increase our overall GPA and to help do this we held study hours and rewarded study bucks for good grades. At the end of the semester we had a pizza party with prizes for the member with the most study bucks. It was a great way to celebrate a semester of high academic achievement!

Fraternity Heritage | Learning about the history of Pi Beta Phi and our own Michigan Gamma chapter is always interesting. Our rituals and secrets go back for years and in order to keep these traditions going for future Pi Phis we need to practice these. Our VP Fraternity Development, Janice Ebert, put together small history lessons during chapter to help remind and refresh our memories. We held a cookie shine (one of our favorite Pi Phi traditions) after initiation for our new members. This showed them how exciting it is to be part of an organization with such a strong history!

Philanthropy | Philanthropy is one of the most rewarding parts of being a Pi Phi. Our VP Philanthropy, Tracie Whelan, provided our chapter with various opportunities to help out our community. We held our famous spaghetti dinner to other MSU students to raise money for literacy. As a Greek community we participated in Safe Halloween for the children of East Lansing. This semester we teamed up with the gentlemen of Sigma Phi Epsilon to hold a "Pie Fight" that raised money for a local food bank. Our chapter values these wonderful opportunities we are given to help better the community around us.

Values Programming | Pi Beta Phi is a foundation built on the belief that women should strive to be the best they can possibly be. As Pi Phis we should be leaders and young women filled with integrity, compassion and determination. Therefore, our chapter holds workshops to promote these qualities of good citizenship. Along with other resources, this helps our members to live by Pi Phi's values | Senior Programming | Senior year is both a fun and important year for a Pi Phi. Seniors hold separate chapters and have meetings once a month. They have workshops to help learn interviewing skills and resume writing tips. Also, they are given additional resources and connections to help make the transition from college to the "real world". Our chapter strives to give seniors a wonderful final year of school and a strong beginning after graduation!

Life at MSU | President: Lou Anna K. Simon | Spartan football coach Mark Dantonio lead the team to a victory over U of M and to the Capital One bowl game despite suffering a heart attack early in the season | Basketball coach Tom Izzo returns to MSU to lead our team for another amazing season!
