Table of Contents | - Where I'm From -Self Respect -Language Arts -My Mothers Kitchen
Where I'm From | From the corn fields and a small suburban town, and the great bustling of the windy city, My parents met in the heart of the south Where the summers are hot, humid, and long, The winters cool but fairly short Where the grass grows green and lush This is where I'm from.
From summer concerts and country music From weekend barbecues and Sunday football games This is where I'm from. I'm from homemade meals like goulash and golumpki I'm from burgers and BLT’s, from bratwurst and sauerkraut This is where I am from.
Self Respect Poem | I’m not the tallest, I’m not the prettiest I’m not strongest, I’m not the skinniest I don’t care what people think about how I dress I don’t care what people think about how I act Because the only opinion that matters is my own Not his, not hers, and not yours Mine and only mine
I won’t bend to the will of others I will remain me and only me I will be true to myself and no one else I am who I am and I love every bit I won’t put on a fake face and hide my appearance I won’t manipulate my body just to impress a guy If anyone wants me they can have me, But I won’t change a thing for anyone other than me
Language Arts | Love Adjectives Novels Grammar Unusual stories Authors GUMS Essays
 Anthologies Reading Talking Studying
MyMother's Kitchen | What is that smell, that awful terrible smell? It smells like its coming from the kitchen from what I can tell. There is something burning in the oven and I'm afraid of what I will find My mom is trying to bake again and it didn't turn out right If only my grandmother had taught her to cook more than just cakes,
The kitchen wouldn't need cleaning again. There is something green, gross, and dead looking in the oven, It looks like an alien creature from a horror movie. If only my mom could cook, there would be less stomach aches in the family tonight.
