FC: Brett and Jill
Dear Birth Mother, Thank you for looking at our book. Our prayer is that you will see and understand us a little better through it. Adoption has always been on our hearts. Infertility issues have since made adoption our only choice, but Brett and I don't see any difference between an adopted and biological child. We will show our child unconditional love and support. We promise to nurture and raise them well. We pray for you daily and we understand how hard this decision is. You have our utmost respect and your child will always know how much you love them and have sacrificed for them! Brett and Jill
Brett's sister set us up on a blind date. It was the best blind date ever! We ended up at Starbucks and at midnight they told us we had to leave because they were closing. We both knew this was something special. After dating for nine months Brett asked Jill to marry him.
We were married in November of 2008. It was a beautiful fall day and we were so happy to celebrate with friends and family.
Brett likes to be outdoors. Camping and hiking are two of his favorites. Brett is an Eagle Scout and he still helps with his troop as an assistant scout master. | Brett enjoys doing woodworking. Here, he and his Granddad are installing a rail on our front steps.
What Jill loves about Brett: *Faithful *Funny *Smart *Calm and steady *Hard worker Brett is the perfect match for me. He is a great teammate. Brett loves the Lord and does a good job in leading us spiritually. Brett is my best friend and I can talk with him about anything. He can take a boring task like folding clothes and make it fun. He is going to be a great dad!
What Brett loves about Jill: *Loving *Smart *Caring *Compassionate *Fun *Helpful *Supportive *Teammate *Friend | Jill and I are best friends! We have a great marriage built on love, trust, communication and teamwork. Jill has a very loving, kind and nurturing spirit. She occasionally babysits for friends or works in the children's ministry at our church. She does great with the kids and has a fun time too. I know she will be a wonderful mom! | Having fun and spending time together.
One of Jill's hobbies is sewing and she has made some great things, like our Christmas stockings. | Jill likes working in the yard. She usually adds a new plant or flower every spring. | Jill enjoys reading too. Her favorite spot to read is at the beach.
We like to go Geo-Caching. It is world wide treasure hunt. People hide containers and post the latitude and longitude coordinates. Then you get to try to find the hidden "treasure".
We love to camp. Brett is an expert at cooking in a dutch oven over the camp fire. We are blessed to live in Arkansas and be surrounded by natural beauty. We can't wait to take our child on hikes and show them God's creation.
Brett's grandparents have a small cabin on a lake. This is our get-away spot. We look forward to taking our child here, teaching them to swim, taking them on boat rides and learning to water ski.
Whether you are being silly, taking a boat ride, swimming, or playing in the tree house, you always have fun at the lake!
Jill's nephew | Jill's Mom | Brett, Jill, Jill's brother and his wife | Jill's Family - Her Mom's side | Jill is very close to her brother. She served as his best man in his wedding and the favor was returned when he was her maid of honor. Sadly, they live in New York. Phone calls, email and talking over Skype help us stay close and watch our nephew grow up.
Holidays and family gatherings are always fun, but count on the four boys on this side of the family to make sure it is loud! We love to play games and tell funny stories from our past. | Jill and her mom have a very close relationship. She is a wonderful listener and always is supportive. She can't wait to have another grandchild.
Jill's family - Her Dad's side | Jill's dad and his wife | Jill's Grandparents, they are eager to have great grandchild #9! | This side of the family is big...35 all together! When we get together there is lots of laughter, games, and food. Most of the family lives in Arkansas, so our child will grow up with lots of family.
The girls in the family are very close. We try to get together once a year for a girls' weekend. We paint nails, watch movies, giggle and have great food.
Brett's parents have been married for 30 years | Nana and Granddad celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2011 | Brett's sister and husband | Brett's brother
Brett's family is close knit. They love to spend time at the lake and on the boat. His parents are very excited about the first grandchild and his siblings are looking forward to being an aunt and uncle and spoiling our child.
We have a great group of friends. Both Brett and Jill have friends that go back to childhood. Brett has "guys' night" once a week where they play board games, cards, or video games. Jill took a trip to the beach this year with eight other girls to celebrate all turning 30. We also enjoy our church and small group. Holidays and birthdays are special to us. We love to go to the lake for July 4th to shoot fireworks.
Patches | Boots | Mittens | We like to call her Momma Cat. She loves to snuggle and be petted. | Boots loves to talk to you and and he never turns down a chance to eat. | Our baby cat, she can get away with anything because she is so cute! | Our Kitties We found them dumped on the side of the road. They were skin and bones. We rescued them and couldn't imagine our lives without them.
Our home is 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1200 square feet. We have enjoyed working on home improvement projects. Our neighborhood is small and quiet and we are about 10 minutes from an elementary school. Our neighbors are a good mix of young couples, families with school age kids, and "empty nesters". | Brett loves doing projects in his workshop in the back yard.
We vow to you... Your child will: *receive unconditional love, affection, and encouragement *have an excellent education *hear a story, song, and prayer every night before bed *visit the lake often *be encouraged to pursue their God given talents *play games and have adventures *sing silly songs *go on family trips *enjoy family traditions *spend time with family *know of God's love for them *know of your deep love and sacrifice
