Dear Birthmother, Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about our family and considering us to be the adoptive parents of your child. We can't even imagine what you must be going through as you try to find a good home for your baby. We admire your courage and selflessness as you try to give your baby the best future possible. If you decide to entrust us with your baby we want you to know that we will always do our best to honor the choice you have made. Not only will we be able to give your baby a loving, stable home but we will also be able to give him or her the advantage of Jana being a stay-at-home mom. We hope that you find something about us that sparks your interest in our family as you seek to find the right home for your child.
We are both 30 years old and were born and raised in Wisconsin. We met at a Christian college in St. Paul, MN when we were both on the track and field team. But it wasn't until a few years later that our friendship blossomed into romance. In 2004 we were married, and two years later God blessed us with our first child, Anja. We both come from larger families, and had dreamed of having at least four children. We never expected to have such difficulties getting pregnant again, but we're excited that we can continue growing our family through adoption. | Our Story

I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home with parents that were loving, supportive, and encouraging. I am the 2nd oldest of 6 kids, and I loved being part of a big family where there was always someone to play with and something to do. Sports were a very big part of my life from a young age all the way through college. After college, my focused turned from sports to my other passion – mathematics. Most people think that it's weird that I like math so much. Currently I work as a math professor at a university here in Indiana, and I love being able to pass on the "joy of math" to my students. | Meet Jon | When Jon received his Ph.D. | The Adirondack Mountains in the Fall | Teaching a math class
I was never impressed by most “jocks” in college, but when I met Jon I knew that he was different from the rest. He had strong family values, and I could see that he would make a great dad. He's a very optimistic person, and always helps me see the positives when I get discouraged. Jon is always smiling, and everyone notes how cheerful he is. Jon is a very involved father, and Anja looks forward to her play time with him every evening. He's a hard worker, but makes it a priority to not bring work home so that he can spend time with us instead. He does a great job playing princess, house, and helping Anja practice her gymnastics in the living room. They love to sing songs together at the piano, and she looks forward to his animated storytelling every night at bedtime. I feel so blessed to be married to such a wonderful father-figure, role-model, and provider for Anja and our future children. | Jana tells about Jon
I am the second youngest of four children. I have only good memories of my childhood, and want nothing more than to provide my children with the same love, security, and fun memories that I enjoyed. Our house growing up was on 40 acres of woods, with a small river running through it. I feel very blessed to have grown up in such a special place, and I love returning home with my family and showing Anja all the fun things that I did growing up like building forts in the woods and fishing for minnows in the river. In college I earned a teaching degree, and after graduating I taught for 3 years at a Christian school. But ever since I was young I never wanted to be anything but a stay-at-home mom, and when Anja was born in 2006 I left my teaching job and started my new career as a homemaker. It's been great to finally have the job that I feel God created me to do, and I look forward to the day when I have another little one to care for. | Meet Jana | Jana made trifles for Jon's grad party | Chocolate World in Hershey, PA
When Jana and I were dating, I knew that she would make a wonderful mom since I could see that she valued family so highly. She's very considerate of others, and loves being able to help out a friend in need. Even though I knew she would be a great mom, I've been impressed with how wonderful she is with Anja. She's very tender and loving, and it makes me so happy to see how much Anja adores her. Anja loves having her mom home with her all the time, and they have a lot of fun playing school, baking treats, and cuddling together on the couch. I'm amazed at how Jana uses her training as a teacher to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities. I feel that Jana and I were truly made for one another. We love doing just about anything together, from eating popcorn and watching movies to canning and doing yardwork, and I'm happy to say that after 7 years of marriage I'm still captivated by her beauty. | Jon tells about Jana | Running down the sand dunes at Cape Cod | Tubing down the river by Jana's parents' home

Our Daughter - Anja Our daughter Anja (pronounced "Anya") is 5 years old. She loves to laugh, and is a lot of fun to be around. She's very creative and loves to draw pictures and make things out of paper. She loves taking care of her baby dolls and would be a great little helper for taking care of a new baby. | Anja Adelle

We live in a beautiful home on 3 wooded acres out in the country. We love the safety, peace and quiet of country living, and we have very friendly neighbors that are always willing to help out with anything we need. Our yard provides plenty of room for kids to run around and play, whether it's having fun in the sand box, swinging on the rope swing, or having “picnics” by the water fountain. We also have fun taking family bike rides to a nearby playground or taking a walk down the quiet country roads by our house. | Our Home
All our extended family lives in the Midwest. We are both still very close to our parents and siblings. Since there are 10 siblings between both our families, we always have big holiday get-togethers. Anja really looks forward to those times of the year when she gets to create such special memories with her grandparents and play with her cousins. | We go to a wonderful Bible-believing Baptist church. Our church family is a big part of our life. One of the best things about our church is how family focused it is. We're so grateful to be part of a church that helps us grow in our faith and is also so supportive and encouraging (especially through this whole adoption process). | Our Extended Family | Our Church Family | Anja and some of her cousins at grandma and grandpa's house | Anja with a friend from church
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about our family. We know that this choice must be very difficult for you. We hope that through this process you will find a family that will be a perfect fit for you and your child. We want you to know that we would do everything we can to give your baby all the love that we have, and would be thrilled to have the opportunity to meet with you soon.
