FC: RED PANTS | Christopher Schneider

1: In 2003, I was in New York City with friends. We were having a beer in a bar when two women walked in, both wearing red pants. For whatever reason, we thought this was funny. My friend snapped a picture of them and later gave me the print. At that point my obsession with red pants began. Eight years and over 1000 images later I am still obsessed. I photograph red pants whenever I see them. I stalk them like a hunter, shooting with stealth and mostly from the hip. The people wearing red pants have no idea. Only once have the police been called. Although I have several reasons for shooting red pants, all that is important to know is that no obsessions are logical, and few are reasonable. The drive to collect is insatiable and the need to perpetuate is unalterable. Thus, this book only marks a point in time. The project continues on. I shot more red pants today.
