BC: The story of the scottsboro boys
FC: The scottsboro boys The scottsboro case brought a lot of attention to African Americans in the early 1930's
The scottsboro boys were convicted of throwing white men off the train and were convicted and because of there skin color they believe the white men
Why did the white men tell the police or sheriff of the town that the black boys just were reckless and threw them off the train for no reason? because they were black and the white men were white so who were they going to believe? The whites so result the black scottsboro boys were put in jail.
The black society was looked at upon as wild animals after the were convicted of the train incident.
Another incident that happened was 9 black males were convicted of raping 2 white women, do you really think thats true?
well, DNA test shows that the 2 women were not raped but because of the color of their skin and because the white people were women they believed them anyway. what does this show? That the legal system was totally white dominated and unfair in every way there was.
The 9 boys who were falsely accused of raping the 2 women were sentenced to death the only one who didnt get death was the youngest and he got life in prison
It took 3 tries for the boys to get a fair trial and by the time the young men got out of jail they were 23. well most of them at least were 23,racial discrimination was a key term during the time of the scottsboro boys and it continued throughout the time that they lived.
The lynching of blacks was a horrible error in the time of racism? why hurt others who are just like you but a different color? man kind says that people werent used to seeing people that were different in skin color
These types of things were going on during the scottsboro boys time period <------------------------
What the scottsboro boys went through nobody should have to but they did it and went through it and for that we see a better today and we give them the highest praise because without this story lynching or killing of blacks because of color probably still would be going on.
