S: Basic Combat Training-Fort Jackson, SC
1: 05.13.11 Forever&Always | Dear Basic Training, So, you're the one he's talked about, the one he always has in mind? well let me tell you something, about this Soldier of mine. I've loved him for a lifetime, &will love him more each day, we may fight & argue, but our bond will never fade. I've watched him laugh, I've heard him cry I've seen him at his worst. I've comforted him through sleepless nights, I've tried to heal most hurts. Though Army love means lonely nights, We've called to show we care. Through telephones & letters, we've both done our equal share. & here you come to put on hold the relationship we've built, through tearful eyes, we said goodbyes, do you feel no guilt? Well listen here, B-C-T, I'll only say this once. I'll play second to you, just for now until you're good & done. So cherish this year while you can, I'll wait restlessly alone. Fort Jackson may be his current residence but it's in my arms is where he calls home.

17: P | SPC Philip Kober, my love. The day you left me for Fort Jackson, SC is a day I will always remember. It began a difficult ten week journey for the both of us. I missed you every minute of every day, and you were constantly in my thoughts and prayers. During the ten weeks you grew stronger mentally, physically and spiritually, even becoming squad leader. I became stronger also. I had to, in order to stand this time without you. Though the distance between us was far, and missing you was deplorable, our relationship matured, and I love and appreciate you now more then ever. I'll always cherish the moment I am able to run into your arms again, and stay there forever and always. I am so proud of your accomplishments, whether it be a new leadership role, or achieving sharp-shooter status. You can achieve anything you put your mind to. Always remember that. I love you more than anything. Never forget that either. Forever Yours, Erin
