S: SUMMER 2011

FC: 2011 | Our Family

2: Thank you for taking the time to read our family's story and get to know a little about us. We can only imagine the struggles and difficulties you are facing as you make decisions for your child's future and we admire you for your courage in choosing to bring this child into the world. We hope that we will get the opportunity to know you . . We are Kim, Jim, and J.T. and we are so excited to be planning to welcome another child into our family. | Jim, Kim and J.T. | We already share a dream...a dream of a joyful home, a loving family, and a wonderul happy life..

3: Kim and Jim As a couple... | We are each others best friends and have a strong, fun, loving marriage. Much of our together time is spent as family time because time together as a family is so precious to us - we love to go on day trips...to the beach, a park, biking, boating, new adventures, or cooking out with friends or family, Most nights, we enjoy time spent talking after JT is in bed - to catch up on what happened during our day, or to plan our next adventure or house project. We love being parents and the close relationship we have with our son. It is so much fun introducing JT to new experiences and the new experiences he brings to us. We look forward to the same kind of relationship with a new baby and the joy of helping to create a wonderful sibling relationship as well. | love | Jim was my roommate's date for college graduation activities. (Fortunately, she had just asked him as a friend since her boyfriend was deployed.) We all had a great time dancing and at the beach and Jim taught me to eat lobster at the seafood cookout, but I honestly did not expect to see him again. Several weeks later there was a knock at the door of my new summer apartment in the basement of a house. We dated for a year before getting married and soon moved to Virginia for jobs, to be near my sister and grandmother and to start our family. | Starting our family did not go quite as we planned. We struggled with infertility both before and after JT was born. There are many reasons why we wish to have another child, but mostly we love being parents! We also believe that sibling relationships provide joy and support from childhood through adulthood. The more we learned about adoption, the more we knew it was the right choice for us. We look forward to making an adoption plan that includes our family and yours and are completely open to sharing pictures and letters and annual visits if you wish. | the beginning... | And NOw... | HAPPY

4: Kim is caring, receptive, creative, eager to do the right thing, and a great mom. She is a learning disabilities teacher in an elementary school and enjoys working with children and their families. I think she gets the most out of figuring out what will work to bring students success. She loves to be outside - parks, pool, gardening, walking, biking, picnics, boating, skiing, day trips, zoos, amusement parks...and cooking and reading. | Enjoying a day on the lake | Playing board games | Dolphin feeding | Zipline in the mountains | Sharing a hug while waiting for ice cream | The thing I most like to do is be a Mom...hearing a little voice early in the morning, making breakfast of pancakes or oatmeal with brown sugar, packing special notes in a lunch box, teaching how to ride a bike, planting a garden together, going to the zoo, playing soccer or forts, picnic or tag in the backyard, cheering at games, helping with homework, watching them discover new things, kissing boo-boos, helping to mold a sense of wonder and respect, hiding Easter eggs, making Christmas cookies, planning and creating costumes, decorating birthday cakes, roasting marshmallows for s'mores, baths and bedtime stories, saying prayers, kisses goodnight and love you all the much in the world, | About Kim:

5: Hot dog break at Disney | "Daddy, can I drive the boat?" | Fun in the snow - skiing and sledding | No comments and no peeking! | Jim is outgoing and compassionate, patient, a loving and involved dad, and always seeking to learn something new. He was originally a school teacher, and is now a network analyst for the local school system. In his job, he enjoys interacting with others and helping to solve problems for them. He loves building things, scuba diving, woodworking, computers, and gadgets. | Scuba diving | About Jim: | I want to be there to catch our new son/daughter when they fall, but also encourage them to try again. I will be there in the good times and the bad times. I love watching children discover new things, whether it is meeting Mickey Mouse for the first time, or tucking them in long after they are asleep. I will hold them when they cry, explain to them the reasons why when they break the rules. I will try my best to be at every sporting event or activity that is important to them. I will go the extra mile to try to change things for them and they will not even know I have done it. I have a strong faith that I will share. I would love to welcome your child into our home and family.

6: Puppy pool day | JT is happy, busy, helpful, kind-hearted, and fun loving. He is 8 years old, plays soccer, and swims on a team. He loves to write stories, read, spend time with his dog, and most of all play outside. JT is a planner and is preparing for all the things he will do with and for the new baby. He is a great source of joy in our lives and will make a wonderful big brother. | Sleepy snuggle time with Cinder(ella) | Mom, can I go outside? | There's no other love like the love for a brother. Our friends and family are very supportive and everyone is looking forward to a new baby to spoil! | Jim's sister in Florida loves being an aunt | JT is looking forward to being a big brother and has been practicing on his littlest cousins. | Kim's dad with all the grandkids on vacation in Pennsylvania last year. | Kim and her sisters trying on Christmas clothes to see who looks best in this outfit | Not everyone gets to see this picture! | but we laughed until we cried while we did it | Jim's aunt spoils JT like a Grandmother | Cousin fun | Lori lives 10 minutes away with her husband and 3 children. We are close to several parks, the zoo, movies, and play areas. | OUR HOME | What to do this weekend... movie theater...museum... boating...skiing...maybe just stay home and cook a good meal, with dessert, of course...or pop some popcorn and play games. | For the baby's room..I'm thinking Winnie the Pooh or maybe baby animals

10: Both Kim and Jim plan to take time off from work when the baby is born. Kim will stay home for 12-16 weeks and has summers and holidays to be home with both children as well. Jim plans to take 3 weeks off and is home on Fridays, as well as weekends, in the summer. Kim's sister, Lori will care for the baby in her home when Kim returns to teaching. Education is important to us and we plan for our new son or daughter to attend a church preschool starting at age 4 and attend elementary school where Kim teaches. We will always support our children academically and do whatever is needed to ensure their self-confidence and success in whatever path they choose. Our child will always know that you made this choice out of love. He or she will be raised to take pride in that decision and to know what a wonderful gift our family received because of it. We think it is important for our child to know their birth family and birth story and hope to have an on-going open relationship with you and your family. Our upbringings were similar to each other and have been a strong foundation upon which our marriage and family is built. We believe in putting our children first and we believe in teaching our children to respect themselves and others, be kind, set goals, have a positive outlook, have fun, trust in God, do your best, be yourself and seek happiness. | Sincerely, Kim and Jim | Our Plans and Family Values | Thank you for taking the time to learn about us - our life, our love, our family, and our dreams of completing our family with another child to love and cherish for all of our lives.
