BC: "It's been told that swimming is a wimp's sport. I don't see it. We don't get timeouts, we can't stop in the middle of a race, we can't stop and catch our breath, we can't roll on our stomachs and lie there, and we can't ask for a substitution." | "What goes around comes back around, just like a flip turn." | "When the world floods from global warming, swimmers will take over the world. To h*** with being dry!" | "I can't fly, but swimming is the next best thing... The water is my sky."

There is something about Swim Rio Rancho that makes it different from all the other swim teams we have ever been on. It's the perfect blend of fun, hard work and friendship that is so hard to find. We just wanted to thank you for all that you do not just for us, but for the team as a whole. Without coaches like you guys, it would be hard for us to be the swimmers and people that we are today. Swim Rio is in our opinion the best USA team to be on in the state of New Mexico. We are so lucky! See you at swim Monday; we trust that some things will never change... 1. You can always expect enthusiasm from Coach K, and that no matter where we are in the state or in the country she will for sure force us into a team chant. 2. Coach J will always have the best insight on how you can improve and the longest sets. 3. Maddy will always be the cutest, no matter what her age, and she is so blessed with great parents :) Always, Varsity Platinum Swim Group 2008-2009 Andrea J-S, Arianna T, Harlee W, Jordan S, Karen M, Natalie C, Rui N. About This Mixbook

  • Title: Swim Rio Rancho
  • Hi Mixbook! My name is Karen and I am 16 years old. I made this for my former year-round USA swim team, in the state of New Mexico. My cousin Arianna helped me create this yearbook for our team's senior divison. It is proof that sports teams can be a blast. With our group practicing as much as four hours a day, you become close to people in a way that only swim teams can be. Varsity Platinm is not just a sports team. Now the year is 2011, and sadly the group that you see featured in this book above is no more. In fact only three members of the orignal Varisty Platinum crew remain on the team. The swim group collapsed in April of 2010. However this was not do to internal issues with our group. I can assure you that the amazing young athletes featured will always remain a tight knit group. Thank you to all of you who have e-mailed us encouragements. We continually appericate your kindness towards this group of elite swimmers :)less
