S: TAVISH - 1-2 YEARS OLD
BC: And on to year three!!
FC: TAVISH GABRIEL MARQUOT Second Year From One to Two Years Old
Sweetheart Tavish! You're moving into your second year of life. It is magic getting to know you! Your smile lights up our days, your cuddles charm our nights. You are our little angel on earth! | You love to play with cars. Cars, cars, cars and more cars. By the end of the year you'll add trains to this list, but for now, it's all about cars. In the bath, outside, in bed, there is always a car to find... or trip over!
Your father is reading to you about Lola, who loves cuddles... just like you! | You have fun getting into laundry bags, boxes, and anything that seems just your size!
To the right is our friend Joan, who thinks you're just wonderful! Below is a photo of how you make your papa mow the lawn! If he does NOT take you on his chest like that, you get very upset indeed! We get you your own little lawnmower, which is the best $10 ever spent!
Dreaming about cars, and practicing walking at the local mall... so cute!
In CT. *Chloe following Sandy *Playing in the front yard at Gramma & Grampa's | At first you don't like your stroller, but you eventually love it!
You look so handsome in your first suit! You're still getting use to walking, and the driveway is a bit hilly... nice to have Papa's assistance!
Photos of you below with your new lawn mower, and the other photos were taken at the kid's park in Little Silver, NJ
This is one of my favorite photos of you & Papa. You're new to slides, and are happy to go down them, with a little help, of course. This look of love between you two is absolutely priceless!
Playing in the laundry in the back yard. | The front of our house in NJ in the spring.
We make homemade fruit & veggie juice regularly; | Playing in CT
Carried by Samara. Checking out the cutie in the mirror before a bath.
Going for a walk on the Lebanon Green with Papa & Samara. Such a great kitchen helper! :)
You'll see many photos of you at kid's museums. This one is at KidCity in Middletown, CT | Mowing the lawn in NJ | Going for a walk around the block | Being silly in the backyard in NJ
We love taking you to Boston. It's where Papa & Mama met, and we are trying to move there again before you turn three!
This was just after Hurricane Irene. You didn't seem to mind a week with no power!
This is our friend Jordan. He gave you a hug, and you bit him. Nice!
Long Branch Beach - Summer 2011
It took you some time to get use to the feeling of walking on the sand, but once you relaxed, you LOVED it!
In fact, once you realized how much you liked the beach, you were not happy to leave it! | Our favorite time of day to go to the beach was in the afternoon when most people had gone home.
At Gramma & Grampa's house in CT. You LOVE being here with more people & space!
 POPCORN PARK ZOO
You loved the "Cars" movie so much we thought you'd like a Lightning McQueen bed to sleep in... We turned out to be wrong... It became only a place to play!
This is at KidCity in CT. You could probably spend a day watching the trains go 'round & 'round, but you also LOVE making them go yourself.
On the beach at Point Pleasant, which is best in the afternoon with few people but lots of seagulls to chase and lots of room to run!
Boston Children's Museum Boston Common Haymarket Square for some pizza &... coffee?
Boston Frog Pond & Children's Museum | Salem Willows Salem, MA
Summer fun in the back yard. | A photo of you & Mama on the subway in Boston
Your smile lights up a room, little Tavish! You wake with a smile, you are happy to go to bed, and you're pretty easy to please in-between!
You are always alert, always paying attention. You are a long way from speaking, but your mind is always going, always analyzing.
The photos by the water were in Salem, Ma at the Salem Willows. | The photos indoors are at KidCity... one of your favorite places to play!
Just a few photos from NJ. Bottom left is what happened when you ate ONE M&M!
Top left- you were "washing dishes" after we lost power from Hurricane Irene. | Uncle Eric (Papa's brother) was visiting from Afghanistan.
Above- being cute! Below- you are playing with Jordan Darvas. | Below you are being carried by your Aunt Samara (Mama's sister).
Playing at KidCity and Please Touch Museum | Once you turn three, you won't be allowed in the tot area at KidCity anymore! :(
The Palmer family - David, Ayden & Coco & our Tavish outside the Children's Museum in Boston | Ed & Lily Soares in the museum with us.
Tavish, you've turned into such a little boy already! | You still LOVE your cars. You love to play outside. You're a bit rough with Chloe, but we're working on that.
Getting you to eat has become a challenge. You would prefer to live without food, which is especially hard on your French Papa!
You are a good napper, and we still lay with you when you do. | As you can see, you're not done sleeping with one hand tucked in... so cute!
You're getting a little big for the baby tub... | You LOVE playing outside!
Here we are with Alyson, Cris, and Jordan, going for your first steam-train ride on the Essex Railway.
The top photo is something we love about CT; family, and a cozy fireplace to sit beside. You like playing games with Gramma on the phone. Lastly- THIS year's trip to pick out a Christmas Tree.
We discover, to our delight, that YOU are going to be a big brother next summer! (Around July 4th!) We don't know if you'll have a brother or sister- we'll find out together... | You make that great face whenever Gramma plays the Bing Crosby ornament that sings "White Christmas"!
Alyson & Jordan have come to play, and maybe sign with you. | Thus far Jordan is the only boy you notice. You're ALL about the girls.! We call Alyson your "other" mother because you climb all over her!
Tav's second Christmas! | You & Mama on the kid's train at the mall. | You don't "get" the idea of gifts... but there's time for that!
That brown powder? Nutmeg! How seasonal! | Gramma helping put MORE batteries in your cars! | Below is a photo of you & Papa on the Essex Train.
You thought the bucket for the build-it set made a nice hat! | Gramma is helping you put together the kitchen set.
To the left is Mama's favorite ornament- it belonged to HER grandmother. It always holds a special place on the tree. | Some of your presents this year are a little kitchen, puzzles, and cars. Of course!
For New Year's Eve we go to Boston, where we join David, Robin, Ayden and Coco on Boston Commons to watch a parade & fireworks with a million other people! | A favorite "toy" at Please Touch. | THROWING! You're a professional at throwing!
Playing with tires at Please Touch | Playing UNO with the family.
Our sweet angel, it has been such a joy to have you in our lives. You make us laugh every day with your sense of humor and those great dimples of yours! You have been a constant challenge to feed, and you seem to live on air. Your love of cars and now trains is enormous! You play on your own with both for long periods in the day, and if we play outside, these toys come too! They go to doctor visits, church, museums, and car rides. (Your love of being IN a car has not yet been realized!) Your first words are, "Bye-bye" (which you normally say after the person has already gone), "Goo-kie" (cookie, which you use for any general desire for food), "woo=woo" which is your word for waffles, which you then feed to the dog. | You ARE picking up lots of signs. You love signing "frog" most. You also sign "dog", "milk", "cookie", "coffee" (which you like a little too much!), "train", "thank you", "plane" "car", "cat", "juice" "socks" (which you use for socks or shoes), and shortly after your 2nd birthday you add "more", & "help". Though we are not worried about your late speach, we hope to ease communication with you by enrolling you in "Early Intervention". Sue comes to our house once a week to play with you & help you practice your words and sounds. | You're a little shy, but you REALLY like Sue! (She thinks you're just the sweetest little boy, ever! And HOW could she not!? WE sure think so!)
At our house in NJ you have a make-shift train table, which you spend HOURS playing with. You have blocks, which you now stack like a pro. You have puzzles, but it's going to be a challenge keeping up with your abilities! One or two times & you know exactly what to do, so we need to buy harder ones! (Your toy animals don't catch your interest until a little after your 2nd birthday.) We try to take you to the museum once or twice a month, and we're never sorry we did! There is little that brings us more joy than watching you play and explore! While you had issues with throwing for a few months, just a few days of losing the toys you throw to "the box", the throwing subsides. Now when you throw, YOU put the toy in the box until we give it back. Bravo! We love your babbles and can't wait to hear more about what you want to tell us! We may have brought you into this world, but YOU are starting to show it to us! WE LOVE YOU, LITTLE MAN!!
Top Stories 2011 This was not a happy year in news. You can look up the political and environmental turmoil on your own for 2011, and I'll skip on to the more social aspect of the news; Remember the guy in last year's book who gave the world the iPad? Yeah... he died. On happier news, the world celebrates a royal English wedding between Prince William & Kate Middleton, now called The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge. The top artist of the year is "Adele", and the top song, "Rolling in the Deep" is by her. The top kid's movie of the year is a tie between the sweet "Tangled" (which you quite like!) and the last Harry Potter... but we'll get to him when you're older!
