S: Christina Noel Danathar

BC: 1 - it's hard for me to talk about myself. 2 - i have 8 piercings currently, have let 2 heal over, and want to get a few more. 3 - animals i've owned include fish, hamsters, parakeets, dogs, a cockatiel, an anole, a praying mantis, horses (a paso fino, 2 quarter horses, and an arabian), cats, angora goats, a sheep, turkeys, a rabbit, a duck, corn snakes, ball pythons, and a kingsnake. 4 - i thought about becoming a veterinarian when i grew up. 5 - i also considered being an architect, medical doctor, and psychologist. 6 - i started reading by myself at age 3. 7 - a good balsamic reduction tastes *amazing* over vanilla bean ice cream. 8 - i love hot chocolate, good tea, and chai; i can't stand the taste of coffee. 9 - i've never used any illegal drugs. i have no desire to. 10 - i have, however, been on over two dozen different psychiatric medications. 11 - i really want to travel through space. i think zero-gravity would be *awesome*! 12 - i believe there are lessons to be learned from every experience in life. 13 - is one of my luckiest numbers. 14 - the most challenging book i've read in the last 10 years was les miserables by victor hugo - it took me a solid month, reading for at least an hour or two a day. 15 - is how old i was when i decided that paganism was the religion/spiritual path that made the most sense to me. been following that path for over 13 years now. 16 - i'm more physically attracted to women, but have had more romantic relationships with men. men are easier to understand. 17 - i've never been a "girly" girl; i've never been into makeup or shoes. i've also never really been a tomboy; i'm not interested enough in sports, or good enough at them. i aim for the middle - long skirts and combat boots, being able to knit and to change a tire. 18 - i want kids, but at the same time, the idea of being *that* responsible for another life terrifies me. i don't want to screw my kids up. 19 - i like grape kool-aid. 20 - i've played violin, recorder, clarinet, piano, acoustic guitar, djembe (african hand drum), and electric bass guitar; i'm not terribly good at any of them. 21 - i've had a few years of german, and know a little bit of french, spanish, and american sign language. i love languages, and wish i had more time to study them. i'd also like to learn japanese, russian, and gaelic. 22 - my favorite phrase in german is "Gehen Sie bitte, und spiel im Verkehr." 23 - i have a pathological aversion to using someone else's pattern for sewing or knitting projects, and prefer to draft my own. i'm pretty good at it. 24 - i've never broken a bone. 25 - i've dyed my hair natural reds, brown-black, blue-black, purple, green, crayon red (which promptly faded to orange), and blue.

5: *** --curtis' promises: Christy, my Angel. Very few people have touched me so deeply in such a short period of time. The love that I have for you is anchored in the whole of me - emotionally, physically and spiritually. I feel the connection to you no matter the distance between us. In this sacred space, we created together here tonight, I stand before you, all our relations, and Wakan Tanka and I offer the following words and promises for you to hold close and to bind me to you. Few have been lucky enough to earn my trust as of late and you gained it in a short time. I trust in you completely and will continue to do so. I hope you will trust that your best interests will be part of my decisions and actions. Just as I will trust in your decisions and actions and trust that they are done with mine, and Drew's, best interests at heart. I have trust and faith that you will be a good influence on Drew. However, I do ask that you do not sacrifice yourself in doing these things. To insure that, I will give you the space and freedom you need to maintain and grow yourself. I will make your health and well-being a high priority of mine. I will be honest with you in all things, but not brutally so. I will try to approach all conflicts and differences between us from a place of love and compassion, tending to your feelings as gently as I can. I will offer my embrace in times of joy and happiness and, more importantly, in times of pain and need. Just as your embrace brings me calm and lifts me up, so I hope my embrace will do for you. All relationships, be they romantic, ones of friendship or family, are sacred and should be tended as such. I will facilitate the health and strength of all your relationships to the best of my ability. Your love is sacred, both what you give to me and what you give to others, and I will tend with all the awe, respect and thankfulness that each deserves. I will love you as long as you will let me and as completely as I can. In front of all our relations, the truth of my heart has been spoken in both word and ritual, and bind me to you for a period of one year and one day. May the strength of our binding help us grow even closer and our love for each other more complete.

8: Nicolin Mansion Bed & Breakfast | Christy and Curtis Handfasting Renewal May 26, 2011

9: Sensational Scones Served up this morning, our signature scones, which were “heaven” according to our guests. This recipe has even passed the test of our British guests! So, thought it was about time to share – so you can experience a taste of the Nicolin Mansion in your own home. 2 cups flour ~ 1/4 cup sugar ~ 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt ~ 1 stick butter ~ 1 large eggs ~ 1/2 cup half and half Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add butter and cut in with a pastry blender until crumbs forms. Stir in any special ingredients (this morning was candied ginger and chocolate chips). Options include nutmeg, candied ginger, raisins and cinnamon, dried cranberries, dried blueberries, or a handful of chocolate chips. Options are endless, but use dry ingredients rather than anything that would add additional moisture. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and half-and-half. Add to flour mixture and stir with a fork until ingredients are moistened and hold together. Knead dough by hand and gather into a ball. Transfer to a lightly floured surface; knead several more times. Pat dough into an 8-inch round. With a sharp knife, cut into 8 to 10 equal wedges. Place wedges slightly apart on an ungreased baking sheet (a clay baking sheet is best). Bake until golden brown, about 12 minutes. | We finished with a raspberry mango cheesecake that was absolutely to die for. Total food-gasm. In short, we'll definitely be back! | I ordered the stuffed sole special - sole wrapped around a filling of shrimp and scallops, on a bed of mild garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. Perfectly done and delicious!

10: Christy, my angel, my wife. We have experienced a wealth of emotions in our time together. We have experienced joy and sorrow, anger and happiness, pleasure and pain. Some were caused by outside influences and others by us, ourselves. Through it all, we have stood by each other with love and compassion. I have continued to love you and watched my love continually grow. In this sacred space, we have created together here tonight, I stand before you, all our relations, and Wakan Tanka. I offer the following words and promises for you to hold close and to bind me to you. I will continue to offer you the freedom and space that you require to be yourself. I will continue to love you for the woman that you are and not seek to change you. I will continue to facilitate the health and strength of our relationship. I will continue to facilitate the health and strength of your other relationships, while maintaining a balance with and taking responsibility for my own needs. I will continue to build a family and a household with you, both cooperating and compromising as needed, seeking the greatest health and happiness of everyone involved. I will continue to support you to the best of my ability in all things and I will continue to be there for you in as many ways as I can. I know that you commitment to me this night is also a commitment to Drew. You have beautiful tendencies when it comes to parenting and I admire and am in awe of the love you provide to my son, your step-son. Please continue to hold his interests in your heart and honor the love he gives to you. I will continue to trust you and trust that you will hold our best interests in mind, as I will hold your best interests in mine. I will continue to be honest with you always, hoping never to lose your trust in me. I will continue to try to approach any differences between us from a place of compassion; I will give you the benefit of the doubt, and be gentle with your feelings. I will hold you when you need me to, and I will allow you to hold me. I will appreciate all that you do for me and for us, and all that you have to give. I will express my thanks, and try not to take anything for granted. I also promise to continue to improve how I communicate with you. I will try to correct mistakes that I make to the best of my ability and work hard to ensure they don’t happen again. I will work hard to own my own issues and strive to improve myself, not only for myself but also for the betterment of our family. In front of all our relations, the truth of my heart has been spoken in both word and ritual. Let this ring be a reminder of the promises I have made to you here tonight. It is a representation of the cord that binds our hands and the love I have for you, with no beginning and no ending. By this rite of handfasting, I bind myself to you for as long as love shall last. | Christy and Curtis Handfasting Renewal | Curtis' promises:

11: Curtis, we have been through much in our time together. We have seen ecstasy and agony, understanding and frustration, anger and forgiveness. Through both the stormy seas and the still waters, I have continued to love you in many ways, and on many levels - mind, body, and soul. I will allow you the freedom and space to be yourself. I will love you for the man that you are, and not seek to change you. I will do everything I can to facilitate the health and strength of your other relationships, while maintaining a balance with and taking responsibility for my own needs. I will continue to build a family and a household with you, both cooperating and compromising as necessary, seeking the greatest health and happiness for everyone. I will support you to the best of my ability in all things, and I will continue to be there for you and for drew in as many ways as I can. In renewing my commitment to you, I am also formalizing my commitment to him; in my heart i have already taken him in as though he were my own child, and I will continue to do my best to be a good parent for him, while respecting the places that both you and his mother hold in his heart. I will trust you. I trust that you will act with my best interests in mind, as I will try to act in yours. I will be honest with you always, hoping never to lose your trust in me. 23: The joy we share when together surpasses the loss we feel when apart. Much love. | Heather | Happy birthday to Christy, a truly beautiful woman who cannot help but shine with warmth and love, kindness and grace.; Selflessly, even heedlessly, she lights our way thorough dark paths, her fierce fires guiding the lucky souls whose lives and hearts she holds dear. One cannot help but get a bit burned from time to time, as her fires burn so brightly - but the pain is worth the rewards a thousand times over and then a thousand times more. | Abbey

24: Thank you for wanting to share your life with me. I love you so very much. Always and forever. | You make my days brighter and sweeter than the ones that have come before. You make the hard times softer and the good times oh so much better. You have earned my heart, my love and a place in my life just by being who you are and with the love and compassion that you have shown me and those dear to me. I look forward to the future with you by my side. I don't know if I will ever be able to thank you or say I love you enough to even come close to what I truly feel for you. I just know that I will work tirelessly to continue to earn what you give me. | Curtis

25: Christy, I hope this day brings warm feelings from those who care for you most, your friends, family, and me. I am thankful for your talents, abilities, creativity and generousity. As I have always told you, something made by hand or an orginal card means more to me than something you could buy in a shop. I appreciate your love for all animals and the way you care for them. May this day be a celebration of everything you value and treasure in life. Love, Dad
