FC: of change | The Catastrophes of Evolution | Emily Anne Peterson JMR Mrs. Knight

Okay, so everybody knows about our old-dead-friends, the dinosaurs, right? Of course you do! Well, a bunch of boring old guys are wondering just what made the dinos so very dead. Well, this short little book will tell you how the old guys tried to figure it all out!

Again, I'll bet that everyone here has more than a few ideas on why our scaly friends all went bye bye. Well, those boring old guys from before probably have more ideas than you do.

Meep! | But did you know that a lot of those theories intertwine and connect in new ways that you've probably never even considered? And the science guys have the same theories as you do? Look at you! You're a scientist!

Some popular theories include: The volcanoes erupted, burning and killing the dinosaurs, a meteor shower crushed them all to death, or something as simple as a plague could have even done it!

Okay, basically, the scientists have sort of combined two of their most favorite theories: The meteor shower and the volcano. So there are these two stars, Nemisis and Shiva. And everybody thinks that it was one of these stars that crashed down to Earth all those years ago.

The first star, Nemisis, was named after the Greek goddess of revenge (Nemisis) | The second star, Shiva, has no cool meaning behind its name at all. | Poor Shiva...

Scientists don't know which star fell to Earth. (Okay technically they both fell to Earth) But they don't know which one CAUSED the dinosaur's demise.

Anyway, this hybrid theory of stars and explosions goes a little like this: | The star crashed into the Earth at one point. The force and momentum of the crash was so great that it caused a volcano on the other side of the Earth to erupt!

Scientists once thought that they had found the point where the star hit. But with the small bits and pieces of the stars themselves, the supposed crash zone did not contain the same materials as the star. Even when the Earth was penetrated very far down. | And the land has decayed so much after all of this time that some debate whether it is even worth trying to learn more! Many have lost hope in this search. But surely as scientific investigations continue, someone will discover the truth. | KILLER? | INNOCENT VICTIM?
