4: This Book of Hours is a private reflection and prayer book. It is so called because the devotional entries are arranged according to the eight canonical hours of the day. The form of this book is similar to that of the 13C and 14C common private prayer and service book.
5: Each prayer book is highly personal, exciting the patient work of artist and designer. The original artwork and the vitality of each book's direction is an example of devotion to God in response to a commission from the 7 Arts Foundation for five individual devotional folios. All profits from the sale of this 20th Anniversary edition go to the Trinity Endowment Fund.
6: Each manuscript of artwork and scriptures, prayers and decoration was prayed over and formed into one of five types of folios. Each Book of Hours is composed of 20 or more pages, illustrated and illuminated for the Christian faithful.

25: I give out of gratitude. I am grateful to God for all God's blessings. Many of those blessings have come to me through the church - specifically, Trinity Lutheran Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. That's why I give a tithe (10%) and more of my income to the mission of the church. It is also out of gratitude to God that I am giving a portion of my estate to this Endowment Fund. I am confident this Endowment Fund will advance God's blessings to God's children long after I'm gone. I encourage others to consider gifts to this Endowment Fund during their lifetime or as part of the stewardship of their final estate. Rev. Tom Larsen
