FC: Grade 2's Buggy Buddies!

1: Welcome to our Grade 2 "Buggy Buddies" book. We have been learning about Small Crawling and Flying Insects and about Paragraph writing. We hope you enjoy reading our scrapbook!

2: Dragonflies are a very peaceful part of nature. They have lived for over 300 Million years. They can fly up to 100 km/h. Dragonflies spend most of their lives under water. Back in the dinosaur times, they were humongous. The most important thing about dragonflies is that their wing span was up to 2 1/2 meters long. By: Koty, Grade 2.

3: Did you know that grasshoppers have 5 eyes? Grasshoppers grow to about 4.5 inches long. They breathe through spiracles on the sides of their bodies. There are 10 000 different kinds of grasshoppers. The most important thing about grasshoppers is that they find each other by rubbing their back legs together to make a noise. Jonmarie, Grade 2

4: Bumblebees are really helpful. Did you know that they make honey? Bees are very hairy. Their hair is called PILE. Bees eat lots of nectar. They live in small groups. The most important thing about bees is that they can sting more than once. Emily, Grade 2

5: Did you know that a dragonfly was found that had a wing span of over 2 1/2 feet? Dragonflies have lived for over 300 million years. One of a dragonfly's predators are fish. This is because they spend most of their time around water. One of the most important things is that they can live in water for 3 years. Kade, Grade 2.

6: Bees are important because they spread pollen around. There are 3 different types of bees: Queen, Worker, and Drone. Bees have fuzzy legs. They use their fuzzy legs to carry pollen. Bees live in groups called colonies. Blake, Grade 2
