BC: Gardening is a kind of disease. It infects you, you cannot escape it. When you go visiting, your eyes rove about the garden, you interrupt the serious cocktail drinking because of an irresistible impuse to get up and pull a weed. ------Lewis Gannit

1: So, plant your own garden and decorate your soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

2: In May of 2005, construction began for our hew home

3: November 2005

4: 2006 | Spring Yard | Brought in 5 loads of topsoil, took soil samples, fertilized, & spread tons of grass seed....

5: Summer Yard

6: 2006 October | Front Yard: Kousa Dogwood, October Glory Maples, & Red Sunset Maples, | Side Front Yard: 2 River Birch Clumps, Kwanzan Cherry Tree, Yellow Butterfly Magnolia, & Appalachia Redbud

7: We planted our first trees. | Back Side: October Glory & Red Sunset Maples, Raintree, Sweet Bay Magnolia, 2 Pin Oaks

8: 2007 | We made a retaining wall in front of porch, filled with topsoil and 2 junipers, 5 Nandinas, 5 spireas, & 3 Knock out Roses. Planted Liroipe along walk and added a Nicole Clematis along lamppost.

9: We purchased a concrete fountain and surrounded it with Knock Out Roses and Stella d' Oros. We enclosed it with small bricks and frog hose runners.

10: We made a flower bed under the stairs to fill in the dirt bed. Larry made a water fountain from an antique water pump and we added some maritime items we had picked up in New England . Planted ivy and edged with liropie.

11: Looks like a new flower bed in the works....

16: We made a hillside garden and planted 2 15' Tulip Poplars | 10 Cleveland Pear Trees, 20 Burning Bushes, & 10 Forsythias planted across back fence row.

17: We made a living area on the deck, adding urns with ivy topiaries, & an antique fence and lights to the gazebo | One of our sunsets
