18: When God made the world, He chose to put animals in it, and decided to give each whatever it wanted. All the animals formed a long line before His throne, and the cat quietly went to the end of the line. To the elephant and the bear He gave strength. To the rabbit and the deer, swiftness; to the owl, the ability to see at night, to the birds and the butterflies, great beauty; to the fox, cunning; to the monkey, intelligence; to the dog, loyalty; to the lion, courage; to the otter, playfulness. And all these were things the animals begged of God. At last He came to the end of the line and there sat the little cat, waiting patiently "What will YOU have?" God asked the cat. The cat shrugged modestly , "Oh whatever scraps you have left over. I don't mind." "But I'm God. I have everything left over." "Then I'll have a little of everything, please." And God gave a great shout of laughter at the cleverness of this small animal and gave the cat everything she asked for, adding grace , elegance, and only for her, a gentle purr that would always attract humans and assure her a warm and comfortable home. But he took away her false modesty. - Lenore Fleischer

23: I don't think it is so much the actual bath that most cats dislike; I think it's the fact that they have to spend a good part of the day putting their hair back in place. Debbie Petterson | Cats leave paw prints on your heart. | Bath Time!!

24: . | The first time Jordan and I ever laid eyes on Smidgen was at the Hamilton's house. Michelle had found him wedged up between two brick walls full of concrete. Unfortunately his mother had passed away. He was SO tiny! I didn't think anything so tiny could survive. I was resistant to taking him since Daddy had just passed away and we were still hurting. But there really was no other option. We brought him home. He barely filled the palm of your hand, thus the name Smidgen. We bottle fed him around the clock. We took him everywhere we went [even to work w/me[. He did survive and he grew to fill our home with love. So much love that even Allen became a cat person. Smidgen stole our hearts. He had a troubled adolescence. He sent us for a few stitches during his rough teenage years. But our love for him never wavered. He was our baby. no matter how old he became he always remained our baby, even when he was our grumpy old curmudgeon. Over the years he mellowed into our muttering little old man, lol. But there could NEVER be another cat like our sweet little Smidgen. We miss you and love you very much. Rest in peace sweet baby.

25: Did I ever tell you that I used to work at the Federal Reserve?!? | We'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge Smidgie. Until then we will continue to love you with all of our hearts. You will be missed our little love.
